In 1981, six years after joining Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks went solo for the first time with her debut album ‘Bella Donna’. A massive success, it sold more than five million copies in the U.S., topped the album charts and produced four hit singles, including her signature anthem, "Edge Of Seventeen." More platinum albums followed – ‘The Wild Heart’ (1983), ‘Rock A Little’ (1985), and ‘The Other Side Of The Mirror’ (1989).

In 2019, Stevie Nicks made history by becoming the first female artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice - first as a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1998, and most recently in recognition of an extraordinary solo career that spans nearly 40 years.

Stevie Nicks and Prince working together created a timeless classic.

I heard an interview Stevie did explaining how Prince agreed to write and record this track with her. Apparently she called him and he came into the studio, laid his keyboard tracks down in one take and in 20minutes left the building. She went on to say when they play this song live she uses two keyboardists. She said he was the greatest musician she had ever met.

Am I the only one who would give up their cell phone, computer n delivery apps to go back to the 80’s? I would give it all up in a heartbeat to go back to Walkman’s n VCR tapes.

51 year old metal head here. Prince was a bad-ass musician, and this keyboard riff has his DNA all over it. Killer song.

She told the story of how Prince is playing the keyboard, synthesizer, and a little guitar in this song. How awesome is that?💜

One of the best synth beats ever made. She called Prince on a whim and asked if she could come over cause she had song idea and lyrics. He wrote this for her in like 2 hours. Amazing.. Prince was one in ten billion.

The prodigy son of Minnesota came to studio and in less than 24 hrs. He makes up the synth and the rest is History! A classic and beautiful song so structured and balance. Totally 80s !

Great song. Stevie’s voice and the fact that Prince is playing synth underneath (uncredited) just makes this an iconic song. Love it!

I love the story of how this song was written. Stevie was on her way to her honeymoon and heard Prince's "Little Red Corvette" on the radio and was immediately inspired to write this song. She detoured from her honeymoon to get into the recording studio and got Prince's number. They had never met. She called him and told him that she was working on a song inspired by his "Little Red Corvette" and that she was giving him 50% of the royalties for the song if it ever became successful. She asked him what he was doing right that moment and if he could come into the studio to play on the recording. He said yes and was there in 20 mins. He worked on it and played on it in the studio with Stevie and her crew for about an hour and a half, and this is the result. Pretty great stuff.

I am one of those people with the ability to listen to a single song on repeat for hours/days/weeks without getting bored.
It's currently this.
Reminiscing the 2 times I've seen Stevie live, once with Mac once solo.
