Spot on. As someone who started doing VO work in the early 90's, then stepped away, walking back in is like waking from a deep freeze in another world. One that plays on my weak spots. So lots of relearning and struggle happening, but I feel certain it will soon pay off.

Thank you! This comes at the right moment. I'm shortlisted and not hired. I"m the bridesmaid never the bride, but i have to remind myself that i've only been studying, coaching and taking it seriously for the last six months. I have to exercise patience, something that i'm not adept at. I am now starting to celebrate every short list and the small animation gigs that i am picking up, while they do not pay much they are giving me so much knowledge and experience.

I thought you were going to say my name. This is me! 😂…It has come to my mind, “what am I doing!?!” “I don’t sound good enough”…Thank you Bill for this encouragement!!

I think a big part of it is authenticity but also people have to feel like you have the confidence and self-assuredness. Big egos probably get in the way. Also, very important to somehow communicate your sincerity and how genuine you are in your voice and presentation. which is tough.

Excellent Bill! Always real and full of truth… anything worthwhile is never easy—Keep pushing, hone your craft constantly, stay focused, and most importantly: have fun! If what your doing has lost its luster, re-evaluate, find the passion again, and get back in the fight baby!!!

In my early days in radio, I was doing a remote broadcast for an FM station I had been working at for about a year, when a high school aged kid approached me and told me how much he and his friends hated me when I first started at the station and how much they all liked me now.

I was a little taken aback by that comment and asked what he meant by that. He told me that when I first started on the station, I was trying to sound like "super jock" and that he, nor any of his friends could stand me! They wouldn't even listen to me. He went on to say that, after a few months, I started being myself and then they all liked me and started listening again. That was a wake up call for me. BE YOURSELF!

Hay Coach, thank you so much for this video. You sound and look great, working out I see. Coach you put the wind back in my sails. Sometimes I feel all 3 of those factors are the reasons I haven't landed my first Gig. It's not the voice, it's not the equipment, the business aspect of Voice Over is a learning process that entails the Digital Marketing World. The spoke on the wheel is your best example, the more spokes on the wheel the more avenues you have to market your product. I have to keep feeding the faunal. Thanks Coach DeWees for the videos and for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. I have a word that describes you.... "Selflessness". You are the guiding light that shines in the night. God bless you and your family. Thank you Sir.

Where do you go to find the auditions; who do you email? How do you work the numbers? The only platforms I've seen who you can audition for are places like Mandy's Voices where you have to pay around £130 for the year in order to access the jobs.

Always great to hear your insights, Bill. Do you have any material in the original Blueprint (which I have) that might suggest ways to get more material into my funnel? It's time to ramp up business.

I know I have to read aloud and listen to myself as well as listen to the recordings and also hear what others do and make a comparison.
