Back in the 1970s (I was in high school) I bought this album shortly after it came out. I found it absolutely fascinating. At the time, Tomita had produced one of the most cutting edge demonstrations of synthesized/digital music. This particular album transported the mind, and showed us what digital music was truly capable of. I still own this LP that I bought back then, and it's still one of my most treasured pieces of music.

Atlanta season 3 brought me here - funny how they knew exactly how this song goes with tripping…

In 1976 my brother and I bought this album in Sears, Costa 40 dollars but until today it was worth it...thank so much. Today I'm 60 years old and I still enjoy it more ...

My dad, pure WASP through and through, was totally into what is now called "world music" and introduced me to not only classical but to treasures like this. Thank you eternally Father Domo Arigato Gosaimas;

I'm the captain of a spaceship and I just got hipped to this album from S3 E8 of Donald Glover's Hulu series ATLANTA. It's far out and i can't wait to listen, at long last, to Tamita's planets.

This is wonderful. Reminds me of when i would sink back in the leather chair in my bedroom in 1979 and drift away mesmerised by this, and the other albums i had of Tomitas, to another place. Superb !

Pink Floyd music is trippy but this is way more so.

It was because of this album that Ridley Scott originally wanted Tomita to do the soundtrack for *Alien.* While the studios picked Jerry Goldsmith as a safer alternative, Ridley still used the opening dual voices as an inspiration to the awakening of Mother, as you might notice how the 2 helmets are speaking to each other as parts of the Nostromo are waking up and communicating with each other.

It also inspired the composer for *Apocalypse Now, * as not only is a synthesized version of “Mars” used when Willard reads Kurtz’ dossier, but the work print uses “Venus” for the helicopter launch scene.

40:00 I am also hearing some V’ger esque music as well.

50:00 and some *Angel’s Egg*

Atlanta brought me here. Honestly, I think I would have a bad trip to this, versus a very good trip on gustav's version.

I just recently discovered Tomita, and I'm an enjoyer of analogue horror and this is about as analogue as you can get. I find that the best horror is found not in the media that tries to hard to be scary, but in the unintentional or not trying. The muffled voices at the beginning are just barely human enough to recognize a voice but they are so devoid of language that only a pitch can be registered, truly an incredible artist.
