Great demonstration and valuable advice. Love these short videos, just long enough to learn a lot. Must try the one brush thing. Thanks

This was really wonderful. And your next videos could you give more explanation as to the colors you were using for mixing? That’s always the hardest part and what makes the painting so believable. Thank you for these videos. I really enjoyed them.

Beautiful. As far as looking more real, I think it's because you're able to quickly capture the envelope of light by painting larger masses.

Thank you for demonstrating your methods. Your painting is perfect, I love the design and how you force yourself to stay loose. Very inspiring!!

i've just started trying oil painting, before i've done strictly sketching and drawling, and i was having a hard time not adding so many details like i do when sketching. Great tip using a challenging brush, thank you!!

I agree 100% that for me the scene is more real when it’s suggested rather than completely detailed out. I get to participate in the completion of the story. I feel invited inside. My feelings and opinions are combined with the artists creation. I feel the same way with my own work. Suggested art keeps me inspired and excited when I’ve got it right. I can feel it vibrating and calling to me. Beautiful painting Michael.

I just love this. I don't know what it is that has your paintings bringing back all these great memories. That skill really goes with all the hot art trends 🤩🤩

A well as re-learning to paint after a decade of not painting, I'm trying to paint loosely, which I find such a massive struggle - this was such a helpful video, thank you!

This is absolutely fantastic. I’m going to give this a try. This is going to be extremely uncomfortable for me but I’m going tp push forward and be reminded of this and the last painting you did. What I find I keep doing is second guessing my work. I go in to improve my painting and find myself frustrated because now I have a mess to deal with. I always fix it but it was good just left alone. This is so refreshing. I want sophistication in my art. Not something that looks childish. This is lovely and just what I needed. Thanks! Kim

Great work!!! Your art has made me go out of my comfort zone and try new things. I know you said you used an old brush for this painting. What would your normal brush of choice be?

I love the abstraction! The large brush worked well for you, the piece is very expressive! AWESOME PIECE!!!

"That's kind of an uncomfortable process...it's REALLY difficult."

I once held a meeting with an art professor and shared that I was really uncomfortable. She replied that it is EXACTLY where I need to be...uncomfortable. At the time, I didn't really understand what she meant. Now, I remind myself to consistently push myself until I feel uncomfortable. Yes, it's REALLY difficult, but I also find the end results are so much better than SAFE.

I get a lot out of your videos. Thank you!
