I'd really like to kick some sort of series off where I "1v1" viewers like this! I think it would be both fun and informative. With the build budget, part prices, and always changing, I think there'd be something new to see in each episode. What do you think?

For just gaming the RX 6600 is a no-brainer at that budget imo. They sit reliably at 299.99 (under MSRP) and will easily outperform the 3050.

Great video! Love the relatable content instead of hardware we can't afford

The 6500xt is much better off with the I3 12100 as it will support pcie gen 4. Personally I don't think it's a bad combo, but the 3050 is objectively better

Love this format. Gradually go up in price all the way to best possible build unlimited budget and you have yourself another hit series!

It absolutely makes sense to go with the 12th gen intel so that you can make use of PCIE gen 4 on the 6500XT.... Stuck on gen 3 with the 10400F. Its actually sound advise.

The hard part with a budget build is considering how likely the person is to upgrade it down the road, a 10th gen i5 may have better future prospects than a 12th gen i3, but a 12th gen platform has better future prospects than a 10th gen platform. And considering the performance ceiling of a given platform can be as important as the consideration of the floor.

It would be great to see the builds actually tested against each other. While PC Part Picker can show you if the parts “work” together, but when you get down into the weeds of things, some parts may get throttled based on the combination of parts. For instance, while I could go with a B450 board instead of a B550 board, the difference between PCIe 3.0 versus 4.0 could change some of the tests. Also, some people may suggest a Ryzen 5600G (for backup graphics if there is a problem with a graphics card), but a 5600G does not support PCIe 4.0.

I love the thought of a Face Off series, but I think it would be better to see the computers in action. Obviously, that costs money and would make a series like that more difficult, but I feel just putting parts lists out there may not show the whole picture. Love the idea, though!

If you're spending $40-50 on a cooler it probably makes sense to go with ThermalRight Peerless Assassin 120. That thing is only $41 bucks with a $3 discount bringing it to $38 on Amazon. It's a dual-tower cooler with enough TDP cooling capacity for a 5950x. Probably better value-wise than a bequiet darkrock.

Also it looks like this listing was done back in April. GPU's have fallen quite a bit since then thanks to the crypto crash.

A 1v1 information tournament would be a great idea and also to help people to build their PC

Great video but for $300 aren't you better off getting a 6600 over the 3050?

I just made a list with R5 5600, rx 6600, b550, 16gb 3200Mhz, 1tb m.2 ssd etc... For 794$ I guess gpu prices dropped

4:40 I'm surprised you've gotten this far in life without having a contractor asking you highly technical questions about how they should go about their job.

I stand on a street corner holding a sign that says "Will work for PC parts". No takers yet.

12:50 The Intel A580 will be $280 on launch next month, that's supposed to be comparable to a 3050 if that turns out to be accurate.

I'm enjoying your videos, thank you for the hard work! I'm going to be building my niece and newphew their own gaming pc's for christmas this year, and I'm going to make them do the research to put together a parts list for them!

I keep seeing people go with the 3050 but the 6600 is currently cheaper and afaik has better performance in most games?

I would replace that Corsair ram with ripjaw gskill 3600 sure it’s a few bucks more but it still fits in with the budget and you get faster ram as a bonus.

Not only does 12100 beat 10400, it matches/beats 11600k. It's a crazy good value when you can get the 12100f for like $110. You can also get away with using a stock cooler and a lower end motherboard (possibly h610 or something like b660 ds3h) for additional savings.

The 12400 does come with a cooler that will keep it at 75C at full load on cinebench 23. The i3 does as well and will do very well.
