Ultimate Physics book?

Best Physics textbook? Young and Friedmann's University Physics is my personal favourite. I used this throughout my first two years of university physics and still use it to look up derivations and classic problems. I thoroughly recommend it also for preparation for hard physics olympiads and for entrance exams such as the JEE advanced.

Right, let's make a list of great physics books. What are your favourites?
I'll start - the Feynman lectures on Physics but they deserve a separate video. : )

Man! What a book! I would love to forget all that I have learnt and re learn again from that book

This is the book that made me to the finals of a national physics olympiad. Hoping to reach that international level.

I personally feel that "Physics" by Resnick, Halliday & Krane is better.

Would you consider the book to be appropriate for a person with no prior knowledge in physics whatsoever? I know calculus but I didn't get chance to learn physics and I'd like to start learning it. Thanks.

I have the 14th edition that I am trying to self study from. The solution manual indicates it provides odd numbered answers for about 1/3 of the excercises/problems. It took me a long time to do only these problems from chapter one, which worked out to about 26 questions (for which detailed answers are available in the solution manual). Looking at actual university courses that use this textbook I noticed that one course only had 10 homework questions from chapter one. My question then is how does one decide how many questions to solve so that they can master the material and at the same time make progress in learning new material?

I would say Resnick Halliday Krane is a must! Much better than University Physics

How do you think this compares to Halliday and Resnick's Fundamentals of Physics (both volume 1 and 2) for preparing for the IPhO or APho?

Hi sir. How are you? If I am someone who enjoys problem solving in both Mathematics and Physics? Would you recommend doing a Masters in Mathematics and Physics? With someone with a degree in Maths and Physics are you able to teach both subjects olympiads as this is something I aspire to teach me when I am older.
