I show how to use the Roland Verselab MV-1 with the Zenbeats app as an auxiliary screen to improve the workflow, and also take a brief look at using the Zenology plugin to design sounds for the Verselab and other Roland grooveboxes

Good vid, also glad companies are taking note of how well you showcase how you use gear. Congrats on the sponsorship

Would LOVE to hear your take on this in 2022/23. Just ordered one. Specifically sample chopping.

Playing Zenbeats app from day one and MV-1 for two months already, but never connected them together yet :) Verselab is self sufficient that much. Though integration with Zenbeats and designing patches on bigger VST were extra exciting decision making factors to get it. Hope Zenbeats will also allow midi editing and desktop to access MV-1 patch on the fly, without copying to SD card. Hope it’s just a beginning for Verselab integration features.
Massively sounding patch Gabe!

I've just bought one. I think it's going to great. Love the sound.

I also figured out the other day that the Verselab can be powered by a single USB-2.0 to USB-C cable to an iPad Pro running Zenbeats. Pretty cool!

Now with the "small screen issue" kinda fixed makes the Verselab an easy choice over the MPC Live 2 because of its excellent Synth-Engine! 👍

I would be ecstatic if they were to do the same kind of integration for the MC101 too!

Hi Gabe ive been menu diving along with the manual. On page 27 you can change PROBABILITY. ( MTE ). Also when you hook up a midi keyboard you need to choose the midi channel for each track your working with. Shut off Quantizing and you should get a one for one feel in your playing

Do you have a video on how to connect it to a computer and exporting the individual stems so you can use them in a DAW, ...?

Hello Gabe, at 7:25 you mention changing to the "manufacturers" drivers. Is that the "vendor" option or something else to be installed beforehand. I am trying to send multi-track to abbleton for collaboration purposes. Can't seem to get it to work. Thanks!

I had the MC-101 but having to actually TURN ON my computer to edit patches was a PITA, being able to scuplt them in Zenbeats on my iPadPro makes this look like a WINNER. May have to grab one once they back in stock at Sweetwater. Can you save Presets you change in Zenbeats to the MV-1 SDcard somehow either thru Zenbeats app or directly on the MV1? Thanks man

Hi thanks for the info …is there anyway u can stop that delay of loading the next wave file song .. obviously a problem in a live set

With Zenbeats 3 Max it almost feels like might as well just leave the MV-1 out of the loop completely if I’m being honest. Same with my MC-101/707

I know the MPC One is probably a better value but I really like the looks of this thing in conjunction w Zenbeats in iPad. It just speaks to me more . Thanks for this .

This unit mixes the sp and mc lines. People argue about tiny screen but it’s like never have seen an sp X0X with one line 3 digit display… xD

So just to clarify. Can you use the MV1 as a midi module similar to the way you would use the Roland Electra for example?

Gabe, the enlarge mixer button on the top right corner doesn't exist on iPad ZenBeats, is it a different version you have?

Roland should've added a real screen and an internal battery, with the mic input and phantom power it would be an MPC live II
