As an old guy, it seems to me that the real mayhem has been exponentially accelerated by social media.

“Most humans will become economically useless and politically powerless… we are beginning to see a new class of humans: The useless class.” - Yuval Noah Harari

Glad I'm listening to this show so I can understand how he thinks - this quote is actually terrifying

This is the guy who told us humans are hackable. The most prominent guy who advice leaders of the world in Davos under World Economic Forum

Repeatedly calling humans a problem, useless, less intelligent, unable, etc., tells me everything I need to know about this guy.

To quote Jeff Goldblum's Jurassic Park: "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should"

I am so glad I was born in the 1950s when us kids could enjoy the outdoors for hours on our own, and we were not often troubled by the adult world to drag down our childhood experience. No TV or radio, but reading, lessons about the natural world, learning to bake, clean, how to make hospital corners when putting clean sheets on the bed, learning to sing and play instruments etc. etc. etc. Now the world is mad - we are pushed about, bombarded by warnings and stories about what might happen, all with the intension of controlling us, as is the dawning of AI use. Dreadful.

I think it's great that things like that are discussed in these episodes, maybe they will make people around the world to realize what is happening in the world now before it is too late. I am from Ukraine and I have friends (or I thought they were) from other countries. Yes, when it all started they were supportive and told me it was horrible and all, and then, after a few months things changed, they suddenly got tired of my "complaining" about the war, talking about problems I had, and the life I was living here, the hell I was going through - "we all have problems", they said, "gas prices went up", they said. I myself did not realize what war meant when it was far away in Syria, but I did not know anyone from there to support. All I am saying is that if you do not want to experience wars do not let it happen. You have no idea what's like, what it means, what it brings, and what comes after. If you have the power to do that - do not let it happen. If you see that happening in the future - try to stop it from happening. I do not know if these comments are read but I just gave it a shot. If you know people and countries going through difficult times just be supportive. War is the worst that can happen. It's the worst. Do not let it happen.

Truly flabbergasting that no hard questions were asked pertaining to his views on humans in general, their programmability, consciousness, or even more important his role, influence and involvement with the WEF, or even more interesting and important, his relationship with Klaus Schwab. Like, what are you doing??

I can't believe, rather am convinced, that all of this was of course known to you before you invited him and scheduled this interview. The more unfathomable that none of this was asked and this guy put in a hot seat. You're intelligent, able to put two and two together, and an organization promoting "You will own nothing and will be happy" or talks about hacking brain waves of employees and what have you, is an organization whose proponents need to be scrutinized by the highest order and degree. Something you really failed to do with this one.

Edit: Sadly can't read and/or interact with replies or comments as I'm apparently shadow banned. I guess open criticism is unwanted these days.

This man subscribes to de-popluation as well as nefarious thoughts on implementing man with machine. I felt you never pushed back or asked him hard questions about the WEF role in "you will own nothing and be happy" slogan.

How do you explain my phone reading my thoughts and showing me product to buy I haven’t talked about to anyone? My friends are having the same experience… how are they reading our thoughts?

Survival in Progress is a good companion to this conversation. Us humans think that more, faster, better, stronger is always better, and miss the point of self experience, personal growth, adversity, journey, connection, relationships, balance.

Isn't he one of Klaus Schwab's Warriors?

To anyone seeing this. We need to stand UNITED. We need to get active in our local communities. We need to make phone calls to our congressmen and senators, governors, state legislators, attorney Generals.
Write letters and emails, make the phone calls. Go to school board meetings. City council meetings. Run for local elections. Start a community gardens and have swaps with your neighbors. GET ACTIVE LOCALLY

History will repeat itself again....When Greed and power is prioritized over People the results have been the same since the beginning of time. Humanity above all as a collective should always be TOP PRIORITY. NO human being has the right to question the value of another Human Being. That's where the boundaries are being crossed. A.i. will only exist if the COLLECTIVE will allow it to exist. Don't ever forget that.

He makes a good point re life extension--do now what you think you would use your extra time doing in the future. I knew two people who had always wanted to live by the ocean, close to nature. Finally, when they were elderly they built their dream home on a beautiful spot overlooking the ocean. The husband died about 3 years later from health complications, and his wife followed him shortly thereafter. They had almost no time enjoying their new home.
I knew at a young age that I wanted to--had to--live close to nature to have a 'happy' life. It was priority ONE. So, I managed to create a small, simple home off the beaten path in a tranquil natural setting, and have lived there for the past 40 years. It has not been easy, and involved significant sacrifices. But, I did not make the mistake of deferring my plan to some future that might never come, or be short lived because I waited too long. Follow your heart--pursue your dreams now! In my case I have no regrets. I made the decision that was right for me.

I like how Harari asked "what if in the future no one in politics understands the economic system, is that still a democracy" as if that wasn't already the case.

If you don't know how to handle boredom, you will never experience peace of mind. If humans don't experience peace of mind, there's no way the world as a whole will be peaceful. I've listened to this podcast and there's so much this person has made me think about it's crazy.

The phrase 'Ignorance is bliss', which everyone uses by itself, is only the first of a two-liner from a poem by Thomas Gray (18th century English poet). The followup line is crucial: ' ... when 'tis folly to be wise'. In conjunction, those two lines have quite a sting, and may encompass quite a bit of irony - and possibly, truth.
