Hank Hanegraaff, the host of the Bible Answer Man broadcast, explains that Jesus said in Matthew that we are to leave our gift before the altar if someone has something against us. Is this just dealing with forgiveness, or does it also pertain to such things as debts?

Matthew 22:34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

If you do not love your neighbor, there is no need to follow the rest of the Law and Prophets. All the Law and Prophets hang on love of God and fellow man.

What is these are toxic people? Some people are Just unhealthy. Forgiveness n friendship two different things. I can’t reconcile with certain people I’ve tried but so much drama! Boundaries needed! 😉

I don't understand, what is the gift you give at the altar and why do you give the gift in the first place?

Have you come to destroy the Scriptures? Ask the Pharisees to Jesus. And Jesus said no I have not come to destroy the Scriptures the law and when he said that the word he said in his Vernacular was Torah, I have come to Fulfill The Torah not destroy it, therefore I tell you anyone I’ll put aside the least of these laws they will be the least in the kingdom of Heaven!
