In the context of trade, politicians will often blame other countries for “dumping” products into the United States. Reminds me of agricultural cartels who collude to keep prices high. Instead of lowering prices to compete with cheaper competitors, they just try to keep those competitors from being able to do business in the first place.

If I'd create a major website with so great features that it kills off the competitors, and then make my website worse (e.g. making terms of service end-user hostile), have I basically caused the same effect as dumping (as now it's harder for my website alternatives to rise)?
