Dr M: Quit asking, start doing

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was his nagger self during the Future of the Bumiputra and Nation Congress held in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday. He told the bumiputra community to stop asking what the government can do for them. Citing the late US President John F. Kennedy’s famous quote, Dr Mahathir asked bumiputras to ask themselves what they can do for the country instead of asking for government help.

As a Malay male myself, i felt like what he said hit right in the spot. I have benefited from all the bumiputra privileges. Got my first degree from a local universities, just got a government job also. Things seems to be going pretty well for me even though I have been pretty laid back in my work and studies almost my whole life. I dont feel like I have put enough effort in my work yet, things will work out for me as long as I dont end up as a mat rempit lol (did spent some times being one though, back then). There are honest hard-working Malays out there. Even those with exceptional work ethics. But the laid-back ones are just very common in the eyes. Melayu mudah lupa I guess. Things will be better if we work hard enough.

Realty check. Whatever Tun said is absolutely true. Most Malays have taken everything as their right to receive government grants, contracts, handouts, government jobs, cheaper housing, and lots of benefits for too long that they have forgotten how to strive hard and do a honest day's work. Govt departments are over staffed and under performing all these years. Today under PH there has been a drastic change in most places. As Tun said, Malays are lazy and have not taken life seriously. Thank God, BN lost. Otherwise, the country would have gone to the dogs.
Please start working together as one community. Too much time has been wasted on religious matters and racial issues. Be respectful of other races. We are all Malaysians. We need to unite and start afresh and rebuild our country.

I as Malaysian Chinese uk graduate have came across many Malaysian Malay ladies who are very hardworking and graduated from the top uk universities, despite a lot more effort is still needed for others. So no hurtful feelings, lets work together between each race to produce a good work ethics in all working environment.

You can work in gov or private sector, but remember work hard and smart, and contribute more to our country.

Educate all Malaysians to not discriminate or jealous, instead learn from each others!!

Setuju dgn TunM. Tp nak bg tau Tun sifat Bumiputra yg suka ambil jalan mudah/ singkat dan tiada mahu byk risiko. They got 5% discount in buying cars and houses.And even those RICH bumiputras got same discounts in buying expensive cars and houses.Isn't that enough help that the government is giving them.In fact, the government should give discounts to all the poor Malaysians (whether bumi or non-bumi)buying houses and cars.And stop giving the discounts to the RICH bumiputras.That's why the rich are getting richer.And the poor are getting poorer.
