The Narcissist can bring people into the relationship that may cause you become insecure and jealous about yourself. They can already have a relationship with them, or they can flat out bring them into the relationship to send a message to you that if you do not act right, they will leave you for another person. So that you can step up your game in the relationship and cause you to work harder at pleasing them, while they continue contributing nothing to the relationship. Triangulation doesn't have to be a love interest either, it could be a third party that will side with them to make you feel insecure or make you second guess yourself.
