Narrator, I was telling my grandfather about you doing the reaction videos bc he was in the army, I mentioned the "come pick me up, people are getting engaged" one, and he laughed, then I asked him about his experience in the gas chamber, to which he told me this story. He was the one who was in charge of setting up the gas chamber and marking people off as having gone through it, so he just checked himself off without doing it. My grandfather is a big guy too, not like over weight, just a hefty guy, and he eats a lot, he's a snack man, and he had some friends that worked in the cafeteria and would get food from them. So they made a deal to give him extra food at night when he wanted some in exchange for him checking them off as having gone through the gas chamber when they didn't. I hope you see this and find this funny because I sure did. 😆

I remember the chamber. They are right about it being the greatest feeling after when you got basic training sickness. Yeah my eyes burned but my I was in heaven breathing the best I had in weeks while others were whining and puking. It even made the old MREs taste better.

I was in the delayed entry program for the Navy and they were telling us about this and how you should not consume dairy beforehand. That little advice actually saved my sister‘s life. When she was a baby she had a heat seizure and would have choked to death if I didn’t know that dairy causes you to become very phlegmy.

as a CBRN i believe those sponges were simulated RSDL (Rapid Skin Decontamination Lotion) which is full of oil and adds an extra layer of protection but also helps remove excess CS crystals from your exposed skin

I went into the Air Force back in 06, my older brother went Into the Army in 01. I would love to show him this because he will absolutely freak out because the stories he has told me about when he went through basic compared to what I went through was completely different. Saying they where taking it to light on us…which is true but I can say this at least when I was in, you where made to stay in there till everyone could recite their social security number before you could leave and by the time we got out snot was everywhere. The Army has gotten soft if they aren’t keeping them in long enough to even have an affect.
