Rwanda

Rwanda is a country located in east-central Africa, bordered by Uganda to the north, Tanzania to the east, Burundi to the south, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west. It is known as the "Land of a Thousand Hills" due to its hilly and mountainous terrain. Rwanda has a complex history, with the most well-known event being the 1994 Rwandan genocide, which resulted in the mass killing of an estimated 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus in a span of about 100 days. Rwanda is a presidential republic, and the current president, Paul Kagame, has been in power since 2000. The country has experienced notable economic growth in recent years and aims to become a middle-income country by 2035.
Rwanda is home to diverse wildlife and is known for its efforts in conservation. Rwanda has a rich cultural heritage, with the population predominantly consisting of the Banyarwanda ethnic group.
