To make all our good wishes happen we need not only brilliant speeches but also absolutely concrete steps to make it happen.
1. Electoral system " First -pass-the- post" sent my vote DIRECTLY to garbage can because popular vote means nothing. It means my vote was taken from me and my constitutional right to vote was taken from me without any court decision.
2. Without converting government people to regular citizens with comparable to average Canadians wages and benefits we will never get real Parliament. Term of their service should be restricted
3. PM should be elected with all Canadians and not by his party members. Party members normally pick up person who is most convenient for them and not for citizens.
Thanks to our PM Canada is transforming from sleepy country and hopefully moving forward. Hopefully. This way or another we should make absolutely concrete steps and not endlessly debate about future. Even if our speeches are brilliant.

No, it wasn't the "commoners" who forced King John to sign the Magna Carta. It was the Barons. There were a couple dozen of them (only), and their coats or arms circle the terms of the settlement in the margins. The Barons, being the next tier of aristocracy, were the only ones with the power to get the King to circumscribe his power - and it didn't last long. King John soon tore up the first Magna Carta, and for the next 100+ years the Kings were in a constant struggle with the Barons to hammer out new terms, depending on who had the upper hand at the time. There are, therefore, several versions of the Magna Carta.
