Fun fact is The Princess Bride was actually made as a Spoof movie of all the action and fantasy movies. Simon recapping famous movies is so giving me life 😂👏❤️

We watched this movie a few years ago (it was maybe my like 10th time watching it) with our kids. My wife knows almost nothing about wrestling but when Andre the Giant came on she started tearing and quietly crying. I was like, "why are you crying?" And she's said "I knew Andre, he used to come into the ice cream shop (in Montreal) all the time and he was so nice to me." And I was like "Wait, What? You're just now telling me you used to know Andre the Giant?"

Honestly Simon even saying something positive about this movie shows how good it is. This is a guy who hates lord of the rings with a passion but said The princess Bride was good. Relatively speaking that's a glowing review.

I think Simon liked the movie more than he realized ... He decribes it with such excitement ... also, if he had listened to some of those conversations some of "i don't know why" questions would be answered lol

The grandpa was played by Peter Falk (1927-2011), who is most famous for playing the titular lead in the detective series "Columbo".

As for The Princess Bride, there are a lot of people in that film who are really big name actors now. Some were already big names back then, of course, but many are more well-known now.
