I have a model y dual motor, totally love it! I’ve owned and driven very many cars I’m 71 years and have been driving since 17 years. Nothing compares or comes close and I have gotten used to the screen, not an issue anymore. It’s brilliant!

Congrats on this one – you nailed it! Born in Germany, i grew up with brands like BMW, Audi and VW. And they always set the tone for me when it comes to efficiency and workmanship. When the decision was made buying an electric car, no German manufacturer was able to convince me (at least price wise). After a week driving my new Model Y LR i can't imagine what a better alternative could be at the moment (for all these reasons you mentioned). Living in the Austrian Alps our electricity is mainly generated by hydropower – what a perfect match!
Please tell us how the white interior is doing ... 😁

Great review. I rented a Model 3 for a weekend and was totally blown away. It was so easy to drive, navigation - fantastic, regen braking - love it, overtaking - sooo easy, an all round brilliant car. Absolutely hated giving the car back. Fingers crossed there's a Tesla with my name on it some time in the future :) All the best.

Good review, I have owned a Tesla Model Y for 7 months and it’s the only car I have owned that always puts a smile on my face. Incredibly cheap to run (£470 for 8000 miles). I thought the lack of display in front would be an issue but it really hasn’t bothered me. Yes there are a few niggles (auto wipers being the main one) but a fantastic car to drive and standard autopilot is a joy.

I have the RWD Model Y. Owned it for 4 weeks now, and can say its the best car I have ever owned, been in, driven etc.etc. I could go on, but I cannot fault it! I do agree with you about the wipers though. They tend to be a bit squeaky on auto, and come on randomly even when its not raining, but if this is the cars only niggle I dont mind, because the rest of it is epic!

Disappointed you did not mention dog mode, hold or camping mode. I live in Florida and in my ICE car for 4 months of the year I could not go to the beach or grocery shopping etc. during the day because I like my dog to go everywhere with me. Too hot. All of a sudden I can go to the beach, groceries at noon etc. I have a refrigerator/freezer so I can buy my frozen food, leave my pup in the car and go to a sit down meal. And sooo much more. I would not go back to an ICE car if petrol was free.

Kudos on all of the filming work. Great insight to drive the whole time going through the review as viewer gets sense of what you mean watching the drive. Great canerawork and getting behind shots as appropriate interspersed. Somehow much better sense of what car is about than other reviews as result.

We tried a Model 3, didn't like it at all. Tried an Ioniq 5, liked an EV6 but delivery dates were ridiculous. Some months later tried a Model Y and loved it. Placed an order next day. We've had it since last November and after a "trial" trip to Cornwall for a long trip which was without issue, decided on something more adventurous. Currently touring Switzerland and absolutely loving it! Superchargers on the way down through France, two charges to get to our first AirBnb. Roads are so much better than the UK, autopilot is far more reliable. Supercharger network is the killer feature and that's what we figured. When all was considered, we wanted a car that was practical for space, 4 adults minimum plus luggage. Software that would be kept up to date and something that could be used as a car in every respect and for that the supercharger network was our final decision point.
The effortless way that we've done this trip has been fabulous and I wouldn't have felt anywhere near as enthusiastic about the distance travelled in any of our ICE cars. Touring in the Model Y is just a delight and ascending the Swiss mountain roads with power on tap is just fun and today, a 29km segment at 370% efficiency using 1% battery as it was coming down a mountain brought a smile :)
Loving the Model Y. Sad day when we do the return journey to broken Britain as this has just been too much fun.

Owned a model Y LR for 6 months now. Total game changer. Cant see any downsides other than the up front cost. Supercharging network is epic only had to queue once.

Good review. I was a skeptic but I pulled the trigger on a LR. It’s been fantastic!

Got 2023 MY Long Range 7 seaters . It’s a joy to drive. For long distant driving the basic autopilot takes the dreary out of driving. In stop and go freeway traffic autopilot removes you from having to constantly pressing on the gas and brakes every other seconds. You just sit back and relax in traffic listening to the great sound system. When traffic opens up the instant torque propels you like a rocket.

Love our Model Y. Perfect for our Euro road trips each summer. Loads of room for family and luggage. The car is so easy to live with, very fast and comfortable.

Not one word about saving the planet!!! which is by far the most important point. Otherwise a very informative review

My old car was imploding and I couldn't stand the experiences I was having with dealerships here in the states, so I ended up getting the Model Y. Honestly I can't imagine having any other car now.

Update: After the latest Software Update all newer Tesla's now not only have 360 Camera's. They actually reconstruct a Virtual Environment an your screen. Nobody else has that. Oh yeah, they also enabled the Matrix LEDs now.

I’ve got a 2021 MYLR and it’s the best car I’ve ever had. Love everything about it except for the occasional phantom braking while in autopilot. It sure seems like they should have been able to resolve this issue by now. And while it’s really annoying when it happens, I worry more about getting rear ended by someone following too closely. That’s my only gripe.

I have one of these, previously in BMW X5 but I honestly don’t miss it, the reviews I have seen on the Y are pretty good and this is one of the best

Love my Y but as you say its not without its niggles, the automatic wipers are simply the worse on any car I've owned and lack (yet) of the matrix headlights being activated yet, cant wait for that. Love it, so much power and torque and the AWD grip is insane for such a big and heavy car, and yes its bigger in person than you think!
