I have this exact keyboard that I have a sentimental attachment to, so I will never get rid of it. If you get into the synth functions and DSP settings, it's more customizable than you might expect.

This Casio easily competes with other arrangers 15 years older than it. Most of the samples still hold their own, are easily processed externally and editable synth parameters and dsp let you coax decent stuff out of it.

I say well worth for the value for an arranger.

Question : So basically you can control the synth from circuit but not circuit from synth? . The reason I’m asking is because it would be easier to create notes using the synth and circuit catching them and go from there .

Wicked Gabe. This is EXACTLY WHAT I want. I'm getting back into it and could do with as many tips and tricks for setting up keyboards drum machines and modules via MIDI. Just a hardware setup. I've got a key step 37 a monologue couple voltage and an electribe. Look you cleared up on the mini hooking it all up and controlling from one keyboard if that's possible.

Want something really cool? Use an arpeggiator keyboard like the launch key 37. With the microstepping in the novation tracks it opens up fantastic possibilities even with the stock sounds.

These are some nice "tracks" lol. The casio would be cool for sampling some chords into the rhythm and resampling with effects. I've done that with the Sp 404 and I have the rhythm now as well.

Is it possible to just play a piece on the keyboard and then loop it in the novation with the inputs instead of midi, and then use the novation pad samples on top of that - like a multitrack looper?

I use my Circuit Tracks with a tiny Yamaha MU5 tone generator. It has a similar selection of sampled sounds as this Casio, but also has multiple tracks. With just it and the circuit I can have 4 unique instrument tracks ❤️

It took me a little troubleshooting, but I got my newer Casio working via USB on tracks channel 4 by changing the midi channel on the Casio (which has to be done every time you power it on) in the deep dived function menu

And

Using the Midi bus in AUM on iPad or iPhone. One mode to send midi each way with the channel filtered to 4 only.

But of course, at that point, you might as well just play a plugin

Which cables are used to connect the both devices? TRS _and_ Midi? I'm wondering if I can connect my Roland FP30X, but it only has normal TRS line out, no midi (only via USB B)...

Probably a rookie question, but I'm struggling to get my Akai MPK25 to play on the midi channel. It keeps routing to the Synth 1 track. Any advice?

I have a Yamaha PSS from 1989 on that you have to enable/disable each midi track and set the voices each time you reset it and that's in a little button combo. But very cool video, I guess you could make the mpc one control all the channels.
