This video is on using PICKIT3 Programmer / Debugger .
All methods are explained .You can use MPLAB XIDE or MPLAB IPE to upload the HEX file.
The standalone tool for PICKIT3 had been archived and not recommended for use.This has been replaced by MPLAB IPE.
We discover the problems which arise after using this archived tool & discuss the solution.

Your video actually help me a lot in starting to use my pickit3 more than 2 months after purchasing it. I attempted to use the standalone pickit3 application before downloading and installing mplabx ide and mplab ipe(although mplab ide does not run) which made mplab ipe unable to work with mplab ipe. Thanks for the video. It is very helpful

I had the same problem which Pickit3 could not connect and upload firmware. I made some changes in MPlab IPE and it worked but trick is when you change settings then click "disconnect" button and then click to "connect" button in main menu for take effect. If you need to change Pickit 3 settings in MPLab X IDE then you should close the application after making changes and restart MPLab X IDE then it starts to work. Strange and difficult way, it should be fixed for easy solution.

Dear Saravanan AL,
I've bought some pics mcu like 16(L)F18346 for my project, unfortunatelly my pickit 3.0 programmer not program and recognize it.I give a look to pickit 3.0 list program and there's not present this type of pic-mcu. There's some modifier files to insert in pic programer folder ?
Or i need to buy pickit 4.0?

I am getting an error stating that the voltage is 4.75V but requires 5V for the programmer to dump the code. How do I solve this error? My mplabx ide does not have the ICSP options in power category to power the target circuit from tool.

Hi Saravan, how may I copy the programming instructions from one Pickit3 and back to another Pickit 3 device. In essence copy the bin file off the Pickit 3 programmer backup to PC then copy the .bin to a new Pickit 3.. All pointers are greatly appreciated

Nice video. I would like to know how to get IPE to open with the last MCU used (like I saw in the video). When I open IPE, I always have to select the MCU I'm using. It's very annoying.

What latest hardware are needed for pic programming for a beginner? In your video, I find that (1) Pic development board, (2) PIcKit 3.5 and (3) 40 pin adaptor or demo board. Are these 3-hardware compatible with MPLAB IPE presently? Please guide me. It would be a great help to me if you can enlist the hardware with details especially on the pic development board.
