911 Dispatcher Receives A Call Disguised As A Pizza Order

In 14 years of duty, the dispatcher from the Oregon police station has never experienced or been trained for this phone call he receives next.

My son is a 911 operator and immediately the "pizza calls" are handled without question. He does have to confirm that it is an emergency call with a quick confirming question but never tells the caller they have the wrong number. Every second counts and they can't waste time talking more than they have to. The quicker the call, the quicker they can get out there.

We’re hearing more of these stories now, but I can imagine as an operator, you wouldn’t immediately catch on to it. Glad he figured it out early in the call. Hope it turned out ok for the caller.

I’m very glad that police departments understand that this pretty much means “there’s someone abusing me at my house please come and arrest them, they can hear me so don’t make me say anything that will tip them off.”

It’s a useful tool that I’m happy most policemen know after a few seconds.

I just commented in a video that I LOVE POLICE, despite the fact that I've got hundreds unfair tickets while I was a female taxi driver in NY. People underestimate their help, until they find themselves in a situation to call 911. I have the most admiration, love and respect for those who serve their communities.
