Another trick with origins is that you can restart the level by pausing and that also resets the checkpoints letting you get super sonic in act 1.

Though Sonic CD has always been my favorite in the Classic Sonic series, Sonic 2 would be my favorite if it weren’t for the ruthlessly hard special stages. But with the help of the level reset thing, I should be able to get them all with practice! :))

OMG?? My 5th special stage said 200 coins.. I thought I was going crazy so I looked for origins playthroughs.. is there a hidden difficulty marker?
They def changed the numbers since the original game but 200 is insane.. I passed with 204 coins just barely

Sonic 2 has unfortunately been my least favorite in terms of collecting Emeralds (yes I have an easier time with Sonic 1 and Sonic CD somehow) I’ll eventually give it another shot but I haven’t gotten Super Sonic in this game since Sonic Mega Collection+ on the PS2.
