Fix Xbox App Not Updating/Downloading/Installing On Microsoft Store On Windows 11/10 PC
Step 1) Logout and login with correct account, make sure date, time, time zone and region are correct
Step 2) Run WSRESET command
Step 3) Repair/reset Microsoft Store
Step 4) Run this powershell command
Step 5) Delete Microsoft Store Local Cache Files
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe
Step 6) Click on Get Updates in store library
Step 7) Start all these services
Windows Update
Microsoft install service
Step 8) Update Windows
Step 9) Uninstall and reinstall Store
Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage
Reboot your computer
Step 10) Try installing to C drive/Different Drive, Rename the WpSystem and WindowsApps folder
Step 12) Update Windows to the latest version using media creation tool

I literally spent a solid hour with someone from the support team with them taking over my computer to do the "fixes" only for it to not fix the problem. Your video fixed it in less than 2 minutes.

I went through all the steps without luck and then left my computer off overnight, MS store was FIXED in the morning. Hope this helps someone

Step 7 -

"Windows could not start the Windows Update service on Local Computer

Error 0x80070020: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."

go to check windows update and it doesn't refresh or load anything

I have one WpSystem file on on three different drives. Not sure how to proceed with this, I guess just take ownership of all of them, and rename them all. I'm guessing this folder is where the apps are installed correct?

also when I go onto windows update in settings the downloading for anything stay's on 0% and doesn't install

The start was highlighted but when I clicked on it, it said windows could not start the windows update service on local computer Error 1053

Thanks! Repairing the Store app helped me get the Xbox app to finally download.
