Hermione Granger Theories Harry Potter Fans Can't Get Over

With the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling opened up a whole world of speculation and theories. Anytime an author creates a world with as much lore as the Wizarding World, fans are going to have some interesting ideas about the characters, and some of the theories actually hold up pretty well.

Hermione Granger is one of the most speculated-about characters, and some fans have clearly done their homework and explained some things that only make her character richer. We’re taking a look at the best and the worst, so here are some Hermione Granger theories that Harry Potter fans can’t get over.

Hermione’s skin color was pointed out in the prisoner of Azkaban that “Hermione’s WHITE face was sticking out” and on the British book covers of the prisoner of Azkaban and the deadly hollows that Hermione is depicted white (before the re-releases).

With the black Hermione one, it is simple to tell she is not. If it has to tell you a side character's race, assume the main characters are the opposite. Angelina Johnson, Dean Thomas, and Blaise Zabini were always stated to be black, but Hermione never was stated, so it could be assumed she is white. This brings up another book I read, Anansi Boys. In that book, the main characters are black, but it's never explicitly stated. It does state that one of their roommates is white, so using my observations before, it can be insinuated that they are black (also the book is about African folklore, so...yeah.).

I really like the theory that her cat was once the Potters' cat, and the hatred the kitty-cat had, for Ron's rat/Peter Petigrew, makes so much more sense... I wish this could be part of the Harry Potter backstory...

I dont have any problem with a black character its great and all

TBH I wouldn't have cared at all if Hermione had been black from the get go since the HP series, but to give her an entire new race out of no where is insane. I grew up with Emma Watson as Hermione, and J.K. Trolling shouldn't have changed Hermione.

I love well thought out fan theories, but these are some of the WORST fan theories I've ever come across.

I don't care what color the characters are unless the book says otherwise

All black characters are described specifically so. Dean Thomas, Amgelina Johnson, Lee Jordan, Kingsley Shacklebolt, etc. She takes the time to mention they're black. Casually yes, not drawing unnecessary attention, but whatever character she imagined as black, she says they are. Not that there's anything wrong with a black Hermione; the fan art and cosplays i see are lovely. But to use Hermione's own logic:

If the only reason you have to believe something is that there's no proof against it, that doesn't make it true. Just because Rowling never wrote that Hermione ISN'T black, doesn't mean she is.

I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and I have a few problems with this video.
1) You're accepted into Hogwarts at age 11, not 12.
2) Dramione was not included. Why? J.K. Rowling herself confirmed that Draco did like Hermione, and that was why he bullied her.
3) Hermione is a muggle-born! Anyone who says she's not clearly hasn't read the books.
4) How is Hermione homeless? If she was homeless, would she be able to go on holiday in France or skiing for Christmas? No. She wouldn't. She stays at Hogwarts for some holidays because she needs to study or doesn't want Harry to be lonely.
5) The Ron and Luna fan theory also should be in here.

The reason people were annoyed with the black Hermione is the amount of outrage always expressed when a black character is played by a white actor. It's always one way. As for the theories, some of them make a little sense but others fly in the face of the books themselves. Hermione is described as white on at least one occasion.
