ARCTIC AIR PURE CHILL REVIEW - DOES IT WORK?

I really like the concept of a small evaporative air cooler (aka swamp cooler) and wanted to give this small Arctic Air Pure Chill a try to see if it worked as well as advertised.

*Needed a cooler for a work cubicle **Fastly.Cool** . It did just what I needed, so easy to used and really cooled the space. I am glad that I got it and would buy it again.*

I just bought this about 1 month ago. I live in NJ and we have had a few hot nights. I keep it on my nightstand and i love it. I got a good night's sleep and felt refreshed the next day. I wet the filter with cold water and put it in the freezer for about 2 hours before bed. I lined the bottom of the reservoir with ice, and filled it with ice cold water. It served the purpose. It is not meant to cool the entire room just the personal space around you. I would recommend it especially if you are going through menopause. 💯👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks for really trying this product out. Your video feels like a buddy of mine telling me the truth about a questionable product. I did end up buying it, I live in a small studio, no ac, no breeze. I feel like I have a realistic expectation of what it will do. Mad props for your time and effort!

I can tell you in all honesty as an H.V.A.C technician that these are a scam and I'm surprised the company hasn't been sued for major false advertising.

Okay here's a real informative review I bought one from Walmart for 40. You freeze the filter inside, then pour ice water through the top, it works well when it's blowing on you. I don't recommend sleeping with it blowing on you because when it becomes empty water starts dripping through the vents and its a fire hazard. It does blow cold air good though

I tried one once during a Florida summer, when the AC went out in my apartment, and it only succeeded in taking HOT air and making it HOT and MUGGY.

Here in southern Mississippi and Louisiana, you can save the $40 and use a spray bottle of water. To simulate it further, use a regular fan. It's the same thing basically. On routine summer days, you will not need the spray bottle. Your sweat will suffice.

So many terrible comments, I actually LOVE mine! I live in a 200sq ft studio apartment, and is making a huge difference for me. I had this for over a year in the box but the reviews were so bad I never took it out! 😅 started using it yesterday, I aims towards my bed as I sleep on my nightstand, it’s super tiny and compact. Love it.

Optimally evaporative coolers can drop temperatures 30 degrees, and yes it will, only if the outside humidity is very low. While it may seem placing filters in the freezer and using ice cubes in the water might help, it hinders the evaporative process. Evaporative coolers work best when drawing in hot and dry outside air, cooling and humidifying the air and then letting the air escape through slightly opened windows. Even when our outside temperatures are above 116 degrees, upper 80 degree cooled air does provide relief since it provides moisture that's not present in the dry outside air. The key here is that air must be constantly moving from outside to inside and back outside. Also these extreme temperatures here only last a couple weeks a year and the rest of the time it's a lot more comfortable. You must maintain evaporative coolers by replacing pads just before the hottest time of year, and making sure water is distributed to them correctly as a dry pad will admit hot air into your home. The fan bearings need to be oiled twice during the summer season and the water supply float needs to be checked for proper operation as well. The Cedar pads are best and have a nice natural smell to them.

The added benefit if you can use them is they cost a lot less to operate and maintain than regular A/C systems.

Regarding the little portable coolers, just buy a fan. They don't perform like their marketing claims.

When my A/C failed, I put a damp towel on my bare feet and had a small fan blowing on them and I was surprised how comfortable I was. You should try it just to see how well it works just for a test in case your A/C should ever fail.

I've had one for over a year. It's more of a personal cooler. Cooling a room of any size at all is a tough task and I doubt you won't drop the room temp any more than a degree. Pointing it at your head while working at a desk or work table is your best bet.

I just saw your review, and all I can say is THANK YOU! I am considering buying an Arctuc Air fir my bedroom(I live in North Central Montana, and we're in the middle of a heatwave). I appreciate your review very much--I am on a fixed income, and have multiple health issues, which make the extreme heat DANGEROUS, so this would help tremendously!🙂 Thank you, and God bless you!

I've had 2 of these for a couple of years or so. Yes they don't replace AC, but put them on your side table near your bed, or coffee table, when I lay on sofa. I think they are brilliant, they keep you cool. But do not cool a full room. They save on your electric, by not using your big AC all the time. All in all I think they are Brill!!!

I just saw an infomercial for this and got curious about it so I Googled reviews on it and came across your video. Thanks for the informative video and honest opinion, I appreciate it.

I’m a truck driver, the company likes us to use less idle time, I use this in place of the truck a/c . I fill with ice and have another fan behind it. This device works well.

I was looking to use it for car camping in my Ford Focus Wagon and from this review, which I greatly appreciate, I do think it would keep me cool at night and the sound of the fan would help me sleep. But I'm just starting, don't even have solar panels yet.

I was not impressed with these until we had a power outage in the evening for 5 hours. The fact that they are charged and have a light made it possible to be cool and see.

I purchased one since I recently moved into my 2dr coupe and read the reviews and stars etc, I actually like it and keep in mind that I live in Az where it’s way over 110 in the summertime and this thing is like having my car ac on, it’s super cold, I soak the filter then stick it in my ice chest every morning and at night I pop it in and use ice instead of water so it last a bit longer. It stays plugged into my jackery and sleep a little over 6hrs and it stays cool and even cold in the morning…in Az so it’s got my vote.
