It will be 17 years in a few weeks, and you hit the nail on the head with, "Not An Inch".

I quit having consistent phantom pain after about 5 years. I get a bout randomly once to twice a year, or if I spend a hard day on my leg.

Jo, I've been an amputee for 30 plus years and it has never gone away. I hope it does for you.

As frustrating as it can be to continue having pain - phantom or otherwise - I hope it abated to a manageable level.

Love your positive attitude, Jo!

I like how you role with punches, good and bad, and deal with change and its challenges in a positive way. You don't give this "it will get better and you'll heal completely!" false narrative. Life is a challenge and I like how you show the realism of it. Because thats how it is for people dealing with chronic pain, mental pain, etc

You should read "Phantoms in the Brain" by Dr. Ramachandran! He's a neuroscientist who spent years studying phantom pain and the book is really engaging with great explanations on the topic

Your videos really help me. I am not an amputee but I have a motor tic disorder. If you don’t know what that is it’s basically Tourette’s syndrome but I don’t have the verbal tics only the motor ones. They cause me to hurt myself and I am usually in a great deal of pain from all of the muscle tears, twisted ankles, bruises etc. My whole life I had been told it would likely become much better or even basically go away after puberty. I am an adult now and it has actually gotten much much worse since I was a child. I’m trying to cope with the fact that it’s just not going to go away and I will have to just try and manage it. Even though our issues are pretty different, I still get a lot of comfort when I see you conquer life even while having a disability and pains that won’t ever go away. I frequently watch you when I feel the most down. It really picks me up and also helps me to find the humor in my situation. Thank you so much for sharing your story so openly. ❤️

I lost my foot 2 years ago. When I get phantom pains I wiggle my toes on my leg. The muscles flex and the pain goes away.
After three operations, I just got my new leg two weeks ago. I am doing well.
I find your videos very helpful.
Thanks Gary

You always make me smile - I was disabled in 2014, lost my left leg below the knee in 2020 - and phantom pain has been there the entire time -- sigh -- it is what it is I guess. Keep yer chin up!

Thank you for being the first Honest person to explain that its NEVER going away! Ive wasted many days watching videos of so called “remedies”. I lost both my legs and have tried every medication available. No luck

It never goes away. You just learn to live with it. By the way you are great I applaud you for what you do. I only wish i had someone like yourself to walk me through this back when I had my amputation in 2000. Keep it going life is tough but we are tougher.
