Finally! Ive been waiting for something like this. I know xhp makes a tune to go from 6hp to 8hp, now theres a video for the mechanical side and i cant wait until the 6hp blows to swap an 8 speed in my 4.8 x5. The 8 speed gives it so much more personality

Hello, it would be interesting to see a conversion of a pre facelift e53 X5 from the mechanical perspective as well because the old (M62tu) V8 engines and transfer cases (NV125 and LWX500) have very different mounting positions for the bolts plus you probably will need a shorter main-shaft for the rear and a longer (or a thick adapter-plate) one for the front. The problem is that the ZF-5HP24 transmission is not a bad transmission (although it has its issues), but it's first and foremost outdated, and ZF stopped the spare part support entirely. So in a few years you won't be able to get original parts for those anymore. Upgrading to an 8HP would probably be the best course of action. Thanks for this highly informative content and showing all aspects of the conversion!

Alkuun mietin että saattaispa toi lootan ja etuperän irroitus onnistua itseltäkin, mutta 26min jälkeen ruvetaan erottelemaan jyvät akanoista :D Satunnaisella jarrupalanvaihtajalla kuten minä menee äkkiä sormi suuhun.
