Pokemon NPCS on the surface are just tools used to offer advice to players on their journey. They are only seen taking a few steps every few seconds and saying the most random and useless things. But once you start digging, you'll find a lot of surprising and outright unbelievable lore behind these somewhat meaningless characters. I'm Justin and I've researched every NPC in the main series Pokemon games and these were my favorites

The one about the Hiker trade isn't true. In order to get a Finneon, you need to use the good rod. So if you get stuck on the island, you can use the good rod to keep battling pokemon until you white out.

In the spanish version, that rocket had english accent and later was confirmed to be from the american region

Water is good against rock and the first badge has a rock gym in sinmoh so the level 8 psyduck can actually destroy those rock types easily
