I'm not against any of the solutions given in this video, but the presented system is not a good representation of real world. By cutting out the banks, you leave out one major flow of money from the system. I assume this is because banks are viewed as intermediaries, funneling money from patient people to impatient people or taking in savings and giving out loans from those savings (as main stream economic theory does). But that is not what banks do. Banks create money when they give out loans and remove money from circulation when loans are paid off as explained in Bank of England's "Money creation in the modern economy". This changes the the dynamics of the system. You should check prof. Steve Keen's work on that or Positive money's view on how that affects the system.

Hey guys, you really need to read up on some angus deaton and some general equilibrium theory. This is a very misleading picture of how the consumers, firms and goverment interact with eachother.

Why are you guys not inclunding the implications for prices in goods markets where by which we can actually compare welfare changes?

This is really a misleading story.

interesting for its recognition of the fiscal and monetary policy tween labor/consumer support and corporate/capital support and a call for Balance. However, it misses crucial aspects of true economy and sustainability... firstly Triple Bottom Line (fiscal, social, eco measures) is needed to make a world worth living in. Second "Sustainable Growth" is a stupid concept. You can only sustain it for a time limited by available energy. At some point rate of growth exceeds energy of the galaxy. Considering the other two legs (social, eco) we come to sustainable economy rather than simple growth... but if Growth is what you want, then new resources (energy and raw material) and place to grow into (for people) are needed. hence an argument for exploitation of asteroids, moon, etc.
