I just wanted to add something not mentioned in the video but probably very important: when computing the t-statistic, in the denominator we compute the standard error (SE). In the video, it is assumed that the variances of both groups ARE NOT THE SAME, and hence finds the estimated SE -> sqrt(s1^2/n1 + s2ˆ2/n2)
Sometimes, depending on the case or if it is given in the problem statement, one can assume that the variances of both control groups are the same. Then the formula changes and we need to find the POOLED SE.
