Lawmakers question why they weren't told of Shanahan's family turmoil

President Trump is looking again for a permanent secretary of defense. Acting Secretary Patrick Shanahan abruptly withdrew his nomination Tuesday after domestic violence incidents from several years ago surfaced. The Pentagon has been without a permanent leader since December. It is one of nine top administration roles filled by acting leaders. David Martin reports.

I think the media is over looking the domestic violence part of this story and shame on Gayle who seems to love to go after black men who abuse women but I guess just going to let this domestic violence story go for this white man. I am questioning Gayle and Oprah.

People don't want tgis kind of thing broadcast like cheap gossip. There was no reason for members of congress to know about these things. It's not like they are all close friends. In fact most are actually opponents. You don't want politicslopponents twisting things around to make you look bad. It's quite possible that the wife was the real problem in the family. Some women will always go too far.
