17:30 looks like a dry well - not a dried up water well, but a large empty hole that the rain gutters on the house would drain into and the water could sit there until it soaked into the ground at its own pace.

The American servicemen would leave coins where they battled to mark the place where they lost their companions fighting in WW2. Generally in woods. If you ever come across US coins leave them to the earth as a sign of respect .
