Glad to see straight hair under the spotlight! Could you also give advice for people (like me, sadly) who have straight fine to veryyy fine hair? I feel like I can't style it no matter how hard I try, the curls or waves last 20 minutes max indoor (I make one step outside and it's fully gone lmao) and there is just no volume at all, and the oil shows just super quickly, even if there's not a lot on my scalp 😭 I have a short cut/short bob for my entire life now, I rely a lot on dry shampoo for a bit of volume, and it feels very sad honestly 🥲 Maybe I should wear wigs all the time at this point to have some fun with "my" hair 😅 And if the fine straight hair girlies in the comments have advice and hacks, I'm all ear too 🙂

As someone with also quite straight but thick hair: even if you get the blunt cut, go to a professional. The shorter the hairstyle, the better the hairstylist has to be. Straight hair doesn't forgive any sloppy cutting, it has to be exact. The best haircut I've ever had was a very slightly graduated, short A-line bob. I literally only had to comb it while damp and to blow dry it and it was perfect. I had it cut as a practice model in a Sassoon salon, were young hairstylists learned different cuts from a seasoned hair stylist. O M G the cut was really perfect. It still cost almost half a leg, but it was worth it. With a well cut bob you can go for 3 months without any touch up. Atm I'm wearing a pixie cut, but I want to grow it out and return to a bob.

My daughters hair is 1A and she has sooo thick hair. And shiny. She wanted a wolfcut.. it looked horrible🥲.. now she cut it to a straight bob and growing it out again to the hips.

Thanks for this video! There’s very little content out there for those of use with hair that doesn’t want to do anything but be flat! I have this hair type ( so straight it looks sharp) and have given up curling it for the most part. I have face framing layers and style a little bit, but otherwise just let it do it’s thing.

Straight A1 long hair is also very cool and sleek and ponytails, buns look very good with this kind of hair. In my opinion long thick straight hair in a braid looks very cute.

I have fine 1A hair and I can't stand the blunt, straight ends look on myself. I NEED layers to give me any semblance of volume or it's just a flat tragedy.
I really like the graduated bob on myself. Could never get anyone to cut it as dramatically as I wanted though.
Most of my life I had a regular short, layered bob (I did have bangs before, but my bang era has ended), and I did have a stylist comment one time that it was the best cut for my hair because it gave it more volume, which I severely lacked. Also love some face framing layers, I often cut my own when I need a little something something to freshen my hair up.

I have straight and thick hair. Although they have quite a bit of volume at the ends. I think it falls under the 2a category. Personally though, I prefer a pixie or a short wolf cut with bangs (I have a big forehead). Whenever, I do a short bob, my hair becomes very voluminous, it kind of gives Edna mode vibes, which I don't really like. Plus on me, the blunt bob looks kind of basic and childish (especially with my glasses). Whereas when I do a pixie or a short wolf cut, the layers give my hair a more natural and effortlessly stylish look while not looking totally dead. This is my opinion from my experience though. I'm actually growing out my pixie cut because I want to try an assymetrical bob hair cut (my mum recommended it). Again these are just from my opinion and experience.

I've done the bob, though it usually accentuates my round cheeks and, shall we say, soft jawline. I don't think I could ever do a pixie, either; I would be too impatient for it to grow out. Microbangs though, hmmm 🤔 I currently have #5 (on the "Do" list) to lighten the load on my poor head 😆

I have 1A hair. I've had pixie cut hair for years. But now I'm growing my hair out into a short bob with bangs. I really hate my hair right now when it's absolutely no hairstyle at all, just hanging straight down. A straight mullet😵‍💫. I just want to take out the scissors and cut a haircut. But then it will be short again😆. I have to put up with this non-hairstyle for at least four more months😤😵.
