Destiny’s running out of Quick Revives, we’re gonna need to use Who’s Who and Tombstone now.

I actually hard disagree with the change proposed in this video. The thesis is "Nobody is playing Destiny 2 anymore, here's how we fix it" and the answer given is "Make more content for the top 1% of players". I understand the idea of wanting harder challenges to combat power creep, but at what point do we think about the players that don't even want to raid? I do think that Fontiers absolutely needs aspirational content, but when talking about player count and retention, accessibility to all skill levels is key. Even the newest of Blueberries need new content too.

Honestly man for me personally its them locking the coolest armors behind silver you may ask "well why does that affect retention" because nothing and I mean nothing gets people like cool looking shit that other people dont have we dont really have that beyond into the light shinies i wish we had more armor stuff like mastery armors where you do a challenge with a solo subclass and get cool armor like the strand armor thats in the games shop rn

D1 player from the dark below.
Sadly I'm admitting to myself that it's over.

New Light, Red War, Forsaken campaign, all the cutscenes for a more complete story experience.

Core playlist updates, Vanguard, Crucible and Gambit needs huge updates, ignored for too long.

Subclasses, New Fragments, aspects, supers, grenades and melee's.

New Innovation playlist that will enrich the game, no more seasonal, episode stuff that none remembers fondly and will eventually be removed.

6 -12 PvE activity that comes around like Iron Banner, A Full scale destination invasion, escalation protocol, vex invasion, hell divers like.

PvP use the destination as a map for Battle Royale.

PvE and PvP space battles.

Earnable Cosmetics with tiers of transformation to be unlocked through grind.

Dungeon layers or labyrinth, More Dungeon like activities with cool bosses and mechanics.

We need that sense of adventure into the unknown, we've beaten the game, we know Destiny 2.

The thing with that conqueror seal is that it attracts only the people that are still playing pretty much, that top 1%. I guarantee you now, like almost 95% of the population that left this game would have no interest nor the skill to ever even consider soloing 9 GMs in a season.

I think it’s boiled down to Bungie has made Destiny 2’s floor too high and its ceiling too low. Second, stop making loot bad. It’s not an issue of not enough loot, but just plainly bad loot. This season’s weapons are a perfect example of this. Actual weapon focusing w engrams should always be a thing at vendors, costs of focusing needs to decrease, and if they’re going to double down on no craftable weapons, make double perks happen more often. I don’t want to spend 2 million glimmer trying to focus a slideways crimils dagger to not see that combo nor get any other good perks.

My recommendation is to revamp the new light experience. There is too much in the game that is not explained well enough.

If I invite a friend to play, the whole system is overwhelming and not in a “oh! Look at all this cool stuff” way.

Looking forward to your thoughts in the next one.

New galaxy
New reset
New exploration
New gameplay loop
New types of weapons
New armor systems
New abilities (titans having some class identity)
New fresh start to a story with memorable characters from the past going through discovering with us. That’s when I’ll return imo

Essentially I think we need wonder in the game again. What does this mean, what is going to happen next, what’s over there, are there secrets on this planet, how do I get this gun or this full armor set. We don’t need to grind for titles or solo flawless or get every god roll possible. We just want to explore and be guardians with wonder and story and memorable moments. D3 baby. I’m on copium all day

Frontiers has basically been sold to us as, "YOU make your own game, YOU pick your modifiers, YOU pick your difficulty, YOU determine your rewards."
They basically said, you don't like how we're doing it, so do it yourself with this new dashboard.

Everyone has been waiting for bungie to tap into the great potential that destiny hinted at. Sadly they almost grasped it here and there in some expansions but bungie themselves kill it with their model, introduce something cool, wring it dry or vault it then reintroduce (when ppl already paid for it) refurbish and run it backwards while calling it new content and pay for it again. Gamers aren’t stupid.

Weapons sunsetting is still a bad idea. We paid and grinded for those guns and sun setting just makes all of the time and money we spent pointless. But I’d be a more open to sun setting if bungie gave us crazier, powerful, and cool looking guns. The problem tho is that bungie is lazier than Patrick and greedier than Mr. krabs. After sunsetting, for beyond light they gave us 2 sets of new weapons and only 2 or 3 guns were actually good. The rest of the weapons were just a bunch of bland blatant reskins. Then they started selling us guns we used to own. Some people have paid for the ikelos smg 3x. For last 5 seasons, the vast majority of “new” guns from seasonal activities are reskins or recycled guns. Fans don’t want to keep paying for their stuff over and over again.

This game has been ruined by content creators' dangerous ideas.

I used to play D1 and only on this year I started to play D2 with my gf. To me everything is new and cool, but there is a lot of things that I see and ask myself why, like:
- Pay for DLC's and wait for Bungie put them on the game on some rotation
- Prismatics that basically outcome the nice balance of the game that forces you to learn how to properly choose a subclass
- The prices of DLC's (for the love of God, where is the playerbase that used to annoy Bungie asking for the end of Eververse?)

But most of all is the damn price of the DLC's. It's like buying a full game every year to play with everyone. Really, people accepted this so easy?

Ain’t nobody soloing 9 GMS on regular dad time… please stop being a 1% player giving ridiculous recommendations. Take a break from the game if you so bored doing everything in afew hrs.

The seasonal model made devs stretch to thin. Bungie never really experimented outside of 3/6 man generic horde modes. Combined with next to NO innovation in ritual activities and ZERO new holiday events.

i got an idea, bring back that massive raid where crota's end and king's fall were in one massive raid that would revive the game

Everything you've described here is the things that Bungie has already been doing for the past several years. The real solution is to add new gameplay activities and revamping old systems that don't work. Having every expansion be nothing but the same old activities with new difficulty modifiers and fancy skins is exactly what got destiny into this dire state in the first place.

Seeing other guardians in the tower with flashy gear that's locked behind a frustrating game mode doesn't encourage people to keep playing the game, it encourages them to drop the game for a better game that respects their time. Destiny right now feels like it only appeals to people with stockholm syndrome, since it's incentive structure assumes that you won't ever consider playing something else.

Day 1 Guardian here all the way back since the "first look" alpha. The game's had it's run. I'm ready to, have been ready to move on.

The aspirational grind cannot be reset at every season. Ascending a title sounds cool, but if the grind is that hard I'm not going to engage in it if it's just going to be taken away in 3 months.
