Who is a fan of the old school Ducati sport bikes?

I'm 45 years old and have ridden most bikes we all consider concrete or staple within the sport bike realm. I grew up riding dirt bikes and the only street bike I've ever owned before my Ducati 848 was a Kawasaki Ninja 650 twin.
I'm glad I decided to go with the 848 instead of one of the many liter bikes I've test drove or borrowed from friends.
Mine dynoed at 128 HP at the rear wheel after gutted stock cans and had it tuned. I went down a couple teeth in the front and up a couple teeth in the rear and increased the stock rear tire size. It handles like a dream, the sound is unmistakable, it looks timeless and I get compliments everywhere I take it.
The maintenance is not for everybody but if you're going to complain about that then don't buy a damn Ducati and be happy with one of the Japanese brands.
The Japanese do it right
But if you want a torque monster that will out shout a Harley-Davidson straight
Get a 848, 1098 or 1198.
Be warned though....no ride by wire or rider aids, you cannot make brake or throttle mistakes without consequence so this line is not a good beginner bike. Great video by the way, cheers from Minnesota.

I ride a 2009 Yamaha r6 which I absolutely love but always keep thinking about a 848, or 1098. It's just something about them that makes them so cool. Power wise the R6 is probably not too far of the 848 but the torque is better for the street. Will try to test ride one next season

I added mine to the stable last month and actually ride it more than my zx10 😂

848 Evo is a great bike. I have the stealth version. I have it for 10 years. Built for open roads, not for city riding unless you want to burn your innner legs. They run very hot !! Still fun though. But now I am wishing for cruiser style bikes.

Nice bike! Got it brand new in 2011. Just recently gave it a facelift and the desmo service feels and rides like it just came out of the showroom floor!

Man, you’re working your way through my stable. 996, 848 EVO…now you’ve just gotta review a Streetfighter 848. To answer your question in the video, there’s no power modes. No ABS, TC, power modes…the Corse SE 848’s had a quick shifter and TC, but none of the run of the mill 848’s had any electronic aids.

I rode 2 of these, (848 Dark & 848 Evo) it had the same horsepower and torque as my old aprilia RSV Mille, great bikes until that desmo service comes up lol, but Ducati’s have amazing throttle response 😌👌🏾

Between the paint lines looking the same as in a lot of the US and your accent I had assumed you were in the US and thought of offering you some time on a 2013 Streetfighter 848 if you were going to be anywhere near the DC area.. but no, South Korea is a bit of a trip 😂

Maybe for the best, mine isn't the prettiest example! Coming up on 30k miles, dark stealth, frame sliders, aftermarket tidbits here and there... It rides nice, but it looks its age in places.

Love my 848 evo did want a liter bike but having a hard time letting this one go, if I trade it in it’d have to be for a faster electric bike like the Damon hypersport
