My great grandpa passed away Ans left me his 2000 s10. This video helps me thank you. If it’s good enough for a WW2 veteran it’s good enough for me

I brought a brand new S-10 4x4 4.3 V6 back in 94. I still drive it today.

Had new one in my teens. Vortec V6 was snappy in that little truck. I was young so after 2 years I totaled it... the madness of youth. Thankfully I’m middle age now so I only total a vehicle every 5 years or so... 😐🤣🤣

I drove a 1998 s 10 for over 10 years. 2wd, standard 4 cylinder. Ran great! Routine maintenance and a few repairs.

I just picked up a 2000 s10 v6 for $500
It has 3 of the top 5 symptoms
I'll have to replace the valve cover gaskets, ball joints/upper control arm and MAP sensor
Overall its a great truck
Awesome Video!! Very helpful!

I actually have to disagree about lifting the bed, I recently replaced my fuel pump on my 1998 S10 and chose to lift it rather than drop my tank, and I was able to do it on my own with very little help.
Btw, I'm also am above the knee Amputee in a wheelchair. It just takes motivation, persistence, and brains and be sure to do your research before beginning.

It’s really nice the y’all like this truck so much, because you guys have all the vids for everything. The other top 5 s10 problems on that zr2 was good and this ones good too. Great job as always!

Excellent video! Great clear explanations and good camera work so you can see what parts you are referring to....I've got a 1998 s10, it doesn't seem to have any immediate needs as it runs great but I'm trying to get familiar with it so I know what to look for if something needs fixing, and having ideas about some things that can be a problem means I'm ahead of things and not just totally in the dark if it needs some work. I tend to prefer to either do the job myself or at least track down the problem before I take it in to get work done. Videos like this are great resources!

Loved my 2000 Chevy S10 ZR2. Repeating problems. New - battery lasted 4 months each until replaced by better aftermarket one. Drivers window motor replaced (3 or 4 times) until I got the made in Japan version after 18 years finally worked fine. $800.00 for new muffler but Asian muffler was $35.00 replaced at 15 years. Radio lasted 6 years. 3rd door latch was junk, replaced but never worked properly. New, told had hundred thousand mile coolant in it. Engine (over heated) seized a few months later, truck was 3 years old. No serious damage. Rear gear box fried after warranty 35, 000 miles I think. In the end after 20 years engine would not start for 10 minutes then run perfect for two weeks and repeat issue. still loved my truck, even with all it's issues. Wet road lose rear wheel traction on starts . Chevy left the battery acid cook my engine bay then years later hosed it out leaving rust and a lot of other uncovered damage. I found Chevy to be dishonest and in 2020 way overpriced for parts. 5 years later I miss my old truck but 5 years and zero issues with my new not American car. Like American cars but too many issues to deal with at my age.

So really the problems are typical problems all vehicles will/can have. I had a 93 with the 2.7 V6 5 speed manual my dad bought brand new. When he passed I drove it for a while. Great little truck, no major problems at all. Just your usual wear items.

You could make even more content if you cover the top 50 problems. It should be pretty easy to find 50

Have a one or a kind S10 full rebuild. Blue with ghost flames, 18x10 wide wheels and one beautiful new interior.

I’m never selling and dang this truck won so many events it paid for itself.

These are definitely hidden gems!!
