Scale is one the biggest problems, no pun intended, Sci-Fi writers have problem conveying.

In the game, of course the units are out of scale for play purposes, but many of the units and technology are far larger than many are used to.
The Science Vessel is actually a station that ships dock into
Marine suits are not form fitting, - those are not marine hands and feet but mechanical extensions.
Drop ships/Medivacs are at least twice as large as siege tanks
Battle cruisers and Thors are far more massive when revealed in cinematics - HOTS intro cinematic.

One of the eye openers is from the Heart of the Swarm. In the opening, cinematic you can see how enormous the Ultralisks are. But then there is that collapsing Battlecruiser, plunging into the surface of the planet. It looks absolutely gigantic

Transport/Medivacs? The BIG transport? Wraiths? Seems to be missing a couple (I know some are limited to campaign, but you had Firebats, which I thought were Campaign exclusive as well...)

Behemoth class battlecruiser (Hyperion) is 5.6 miles friggin huge.

For comparisons sake, an imperial class star destroyer is 1500 meters long. The Behemoth is 9012 meters long. So basically its 6 ISDs long.

The moment you remember that SC was originally a game for WH40k and that the marines where space marines. The joke is that 40k marines are juggernauts in armor that can take an insane amount of damage before going down while the marines in SC are fodder.

Pretty wild that a bunch of what amounts to pitbulls with some big claws and horns can rip a thor apart in seconds, or that a dozen or so drug users with rifles can take down a battlecruiser

Actually, there is more than one type of Battlecruiser: Minotaur of StarCraft 2 is actually smaller than Behemoth of StarCraft 1.
