Great lecture! I'm taking a Modern Physics course and this was very helpful. I'm still not sure exactly why relative average velocity is precisely sqrt(2)*v, but I'm looking it up :)

Concentration multiplied by volume equals number of collisions? Why? Is it not just number of molecules?

thank you very much sir for explaining in such a practical way.

In Halliday's book, instead of considering a cilinder of radius 2r, he simply puts it as r, so the final formula doesn't have the 1/4 factor. Is this irelevant?

Can I get your lectures for oscillation and waves ....

when you changed v(bar) to v(relative), why didn't you change V(bar)in the numerator as underroot2 v(bar) at the end of the lecture?

Why you have taken 2r=radius of cylinder? Can we take any radius?

I don´t understand how you mantain sqroot 2 in the equation. You just cancel both, numerator and denominator. Inn`t correct?

how no. of collision is equal to volume of cylinder *no.concentration

How Can N/V be the density??? Isnt it supposed to be Nm/V??? (m=mass of a Molecule)
How Can the radius of the Cylinder=2r??
