In Halliday's book, instead of considering a cilinder of radius 2r, he simply puts it as r, so the final formula doesn't have the 1/4 factor. Is this irelevant?

How Can N/V be the density??? Isnt it supposed to be Nm/V??? (m=mass of a Molecule)
