This is a fan animation of one of the most popular anime series in the world One Piece. This is a short concept of what would happen if Luffy chose a different path, instead of trying to become the pirate king , he becomes a marine and tries to become the Fleet Admiral.

In regards to the end, there's actually some fanfics I read many years ago that explore a "what if" scenario of Luffy being a marine and what would happen as a result of Ace's execution being announced. One of them had a neat idea (though of course a lot more anticlimactic than Marine Ford) that Luffy goes to Whitebeard and makes a deal - he retrieves Ace, they don't go all out on the marine headquarters. He gets clearance to enter Impel down, and rearrange the orders of the ships - it's more complex then my summary but basically Ace is put on one ship instead of the other and there's all the miscommunication of "no WE have him, " "NO, WE have him!" and basically Luffy pulls what he did originally at Impel down, getting Ivankov and Bentham's assistance - massive prison break - "hey guys wait a second Ace is not on the ship we're on wtf" - Whitebeard Pirates slip in and take advantage of the chaos and free Ace. And essentially onward from that moment Luffy and his crew become fugitives, 2 time skip - suddenly a new Pirate crew called the strawhats pop up in the New World, and y'all know the rest.

If Luffy decides to be navy, Garp would be his sensei and teach all Haki types before the first time he started sailing (17 years old).

The crew would be a bit different, Coby would promise to join Luffy after he becomes stronger, Zoro wouldn't have trouble joining because it wouldn't interfere with his dream of becoming the Strongest Swordsman, Nami would be a bit reluctant to join due to Nezumi selling off her village but at the end she would join after seeing that Luffy's crew is how Marines are supposed to be. Ussop wanted to be a Brave Man of the Sea, his dream was not incompatible so he would join, the same going for Sanji. Smoker wouldn't chase after Luffy and remains at Roger's birth but suggests Tashigi to join Luffy's crew so she could get stronger.

They still meet Laboon, Crocus and Vivi because Luffy wanted to see how pirates crossed the Red Line. The Alabasta Arc is almost the same with Luffy having less trouble to defeat Crocodile in their final battle, because in this reality they are Marines they are publicy lauded as heroes and get several promotions.

Nico wouldn't join the crew, Luffy would let her escape after the Alabasta Arc, she probably be on her own again until the Revolutionaries find her. Luffy recognizes Blackbeard when they meet at the island below Skypea and they fight, it is a very hard battle but this Luffy was stronger than his canon self due to the training in Haki he got from Garp and wins, after Ace hears of that he returns with Whitebeard, during Luffy's recovery he is visited by Coby who joins his crew (Helmepo remains with Garp, wary of Zoro)

In this reality they dont have the Sunny but a Marine ship, they don't travel to Water 7, without Robin around Luci and his group don't receive orders to act yet and remain as sleeping agents at Galey La Company.

Luffy gets order to investigage Moriah, they meet Brook, Luffy offers him to join but he refuses because he is a pirate, after the Thriller Back arc ends Brooks agrees to join, Brook's bounty was already lapsed.

Because they are not pirates they don't get Wanted posters, Duval is not hunted for resembling Sanji's portrait, he doesn't kidnap Hachi, Camie doesn't meet the crew and the Straw Hats don't have to free her. In the Sabaody Archpielago the imbecile Celestial Dragon still gets punched, in this case by Kidd. The Straw Hats come with Kizaru and everything goes relatively fine until they accidentally cross paths with Rayleigh who completely trashes them and takes away Luffy's hat after recognizing it, motivating Luffy to get stronger.

After the one piece ended, this is definitely what I hope to watch next, Luffy as Marine.

This is exactly what I think Luffy as a marine would be like, he would basically be the exact same, fighting other pirates/marines. However he would SPECIFICALLY defeat the "evil" marines. Either pirate or marine, Luffy is good.

Actually this plot / setting make more sense than being a Pirate King path cuz 90% of other pirates are evil and Luffy always try to act like a savior for wherever he visited.

In this timeline i could see Shanks still coming to luffy’s village hanging out, luffy eating the fruit and inspiring luffy to be a pirate but this time however when the bandits came and kidnapped luffy Shanks was to late to save him and just as luffy was about to be eaten it was Garp that saved him instead sacrificing his arm and in turn precious fist to save his grandson as Luffy was thankful for his grandfather he joined the marines while still holding respect for shanks as shanks gives him the hat telling him to give it back when he becomes a great marine but luffy still being luffy i see him not taking orders from his superiors doing everything his own way and still getting promoted none the less
