The COVID-19 crisis has exposed stark global inequities, fragilities and unsustainable practices that pre-date this pandemic and have intensified its impact. Invited by the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Steven J Hoffman, Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute for Population and Public Health, led a ten-week participatory process to develop a UN Research Roadmap that outlines how science and scientific collaboration can spur an equitable global socio-economic recovery. In this talk, he discusses the Roadmap and how researchers, research funders, civil society organizations and governments can use it to guide their work.
