I always keep UV5R in the car saved with gmrs, national calling frequencies and some of Marine vhf frequencies

If your radio doesn't have enough alphanumeric spaces to spell "Weather 1, 2, 3...". You can always spell out "WX 1", or "NOAA 7".
There are only 7 NOAA weather channels, used nationwide.

Does the off set at the top NOT effect channel memory?
So once you put in your simplex frequency will it not offset? As indicated by the code on top of display?
