When RE2 Remake released, I heard a lot of people talking shit about this song.
"Capcom decides to use some shitty song that sounds like it's from the 90s?!?"
I was like, "Um.... The game takes place in the 90s, and the game is supposed to be a tribute/throwback to 90s survival horror.... So, what's your problem exactly?"

What a fucking great game this is.

Can I say just how refreshing it was to play a game you can knock out in 6-7 hours (the first playthrough, at least)? I'm a pretty busy person, and my backlog of games is filled with 50+ hour games so this was really awesome.

I started playing this game at midnight and by the time I finished Claire A, it was morning. The next day, I did the same thing but with Leon's B campaign, and when light started to flood my room, I saw the light at the end of that tunnel in the true ending. What a damn awesome experience this game was.

I cannot wait for the RE3 remake. Gonna have Nemesis hauling ass down a city block like OH LAWD HE COMIN'.

Hearing this song, I think of all the many other survival horror franchises that we've lost in the last several years... Forbidden Siren, Fatal Frame, Parasite Eve... *Silent Hill, * and so many others that I've probably missed.

This knowledge and this song make me so grateful that Resident Evil has not only persevered for all these years, even when things looked bleak, but triumphantly returned to *true* Survival Horror when for so long, such a thought seemed like an impossibility.

Here's to you, Resident Evil, and here's hoping we have many more great years with this delightful franchise.
