i Have done several garage floors with this kit... never had any problems... preparation is the key... period.

I put this on my garage and 15 years later it still looks like the day i did the job. I drove on it, my renters parked on it. When I sold the home all I had to do was wash it out with some detergent an water. It looked great!! I put the chips on top of the wet paint. I let it dry a few days then applied the rust-oleum clear epoxy. The floor was bullet proof. I am getting ready to do my garage in my new home. Cannot wait to see the great results. I highly recommend their product.

THE ONLY VIDEO ON RUST OLEUM EPOXYSHIELD WORTH WATCHING.

This is a really nice kit, it gets a bad rap and I'm sure it is because people don't prepare the floor properly. We applied 1 2.5 garage kit this past spring (2019) and absolutely loved the results. The most important thing is NOT skipping or half assing any of the steps. We really pressure washed our floor, cleaned it heavily, filled the cracks etc. and the results speak for themselves. We made a few mistakes but the kit is pretty forgiving. We also added the clear coat afterwards. IMO the clear coat is an absolute MUST, the finish it gives and the results with the clear are just so much better than just a raw finish. However the clear coat only makes up 1 gallon and that barely covered our 2 car garage. The kit in the video was much more than enough to do the garage floor with plenty left over.

Those chips that come in the pack taste awful. You should make them taste better. I thought it was nice to include a snack in the pack since this is a hard job, but boy they almost don’t even taste like food!

You should recommend to your customers to diamond grind the floor instead of acid etch. You get a much better bond with diamond grinding and you don’t have acid running down in the joints that will reactivate later and cause problems. You should also recommend purchasing the same lot number material so all the colors match.

So should I add the anti skid to the epoxy or to the clear coating

On a new construction home with clean concrete, should I still do the degreasing step or just rinse with water???

Good video guys. Many manufacturers recommend using a primer before applying the epoxy so I wonder if you agree? Also, many DIY videos on this topic strongly recommend a second coat. If I do that how long should I wait before applying? Sorry, one more: Does the clear coating also serve to help seal the flakes to the surface. Thanks!

So what the hell do you do if you have 2 kits? I've been told to mix them because if you don't, you may end up in variations in color

so I bought the epoxyshield 2.5 car garage kit and I really want to clear coat it but I can't seem to find the rustoleum Clear finish anywhere!. What other clear coat can I use other than the rustoleum brand that would be compatible for the epoxy shield?

I've seen some videos where one kit wasn't enough to do the job. Like they bought the 2.5 car kit for a 2 car garage and ended up needing two kits. I only have a 1 car garage so I bought the 1 car kit. My garage is about 220 sq ft so I am hoping it will be enough. I would have no use for any extra and didn't want to spend the extra money and waste it.

I have a 2 car garage that ready to be painted. I want to paint 1/2 on one day and the other half the next. How does this work for mixing the product?

Question: If adding (anti skid), is it best to add it to the paint/ expoxy coating or the clear coat?

since this is Rust-Oleum CANADA, I have a Canadian question. How does this product hold up to the Canadian Salt that is used during the winter months? I drive my vehicle on public roads and snow builds up in my wheel wells and under the car. That snow is contaminated with road salt. I park my vehicles in my garage, and the snow melts, along with the road salt. On an untreated concrete surface, the salt eats away at the slab. Will the salt also eat away at the EPOXYSHIELD?
