it's crazy how much trust that kid who threw in 700k had in intel, despite them being known for bad management, cutting corners, and delivering low quality products for at least the past 5 years.

atrioc calling his stream a hell chamber where people make the same joke over and over like it's the first time is probably the one thing streamers have most in common with retail workers. as a cashier, it makes me want to blow my brains out at the register when something beeps weird and the customer is like "oh, that must be free". then the entire line bursts out laughing like npc's, as if that isn't the literal 10 THOUSANDTH time i've heard that joke

What is actually wrong with WallStreetBets users? What sort of sound-minded individual spends the *entirety* of their $800 THOUSAND dollar inheritance on all-in stock-picking, rather than a balanced portfolio, or *_literally and other investment?_*

Only Intel could take truckloads of government money and find a way to not be profitable with the most hyped tech sector in existence.

My firm's financial advisor told me to buy Intel right after the debate since it was looking like a Trump win and what it would mean for US chip manufacturing and US-Taiwan relations. Boy am I glad I didn't listen.

"They changed their CEO" kek
My buddy works there. First they cut everyone's bonus, which was a relevant part of the income (think like 15% of total salary in the cases I know). At the same time they froze both hiring and promotion, so people are stuck at junior level despite working there for years. And in their inhouse communication, they had the gall to point out how their CEO was giving up his salary out of solidarity. His regular salary makes up like 0.3% of his earnings, because he gets 300M (!) in bonuses. Bonuses that stay untouched of course. Yep, empires tend to fall when the rot has festered enough.

1:20 The common term for companies that have matured and are now profitable is “Cash Cow” not “Cash Printer”

He’s avoiding it for a reason people, don’t let him blind you.

Intel:
* Didn't anticipate Ryzen and is _still_ catching up with it them
* Haven't done anything innovative in almost 20 years
* Been caught doing shady monopolistic practices for also almost 20 years (paid devs to optimize specifically for their CPUs and avoid doing multi threading in games)
* "Cheated" with CPU performance in an incredibly insecure way and basically forcing AMD to follow suite (Meltdown/Spectre)
* Put way too high of a clock on recent CPUs making them literally fry themselves and blamed Nvidia for it

I dodged the new Intel bug by getting the 12th Gen instead of 13th on my laptop, once again being a cheap f*#k gets you only Ws.

And this isn't even mentioning the serious issues that their 13th and 14th gen chips have. I was wondering why I couldn't play some games because they kept crashing on launch, and it was because of the intel voltage issues (luckily the recent updates seem to have fixed things for me but I've heard that some of the chips also have oxidation issues so I'm just praying I was lucky enough to avoid those)

You didn’t even mention the raptor lake oxidation and voltage problems

As a consumer who builds computers (hobby), I haven't looked at Intel favorably since they released the 4790k. That was their last good CPU imo. Everything since then, and since AMD got their act together, has been mid at best on the consumer side of things. If they won't innovate in one aspect of their company, the most public facing side, I wouldn't expect them to innovate anywhere.

As someone who lives in Arizona and works in construction specifically networking lets just say I’m very happy to hear they plan on continuing to invest in themselves… 🤣
