Bagan is one of Myanmar’s most significant cultural sites and was once home to the region's ancient rulers.

Last month, a magnitude 6.8 quake shook the city's buildings, damaging around 400 religious monuments.

With more than 3,000 temples, pagodas and other ancient monuments, that number is likely to increase.

Al Jazeera’s Scott Heidler reports from Bagan.
