Dell G5 5500 Review - Competition Is Tough

The Dell G5 5500 is currently between a rock and a hard place, especially here in Singapore. The competition is really tough, and despite the 'slashed' prices here in Singapore, it still isn't enough. To be fair, it's a great laptop that performs just as you would expect from looking at the spec sheet. But only look at this laptop, if you can get a really sweet deal.

A laptop is something that you would use for quite some time, a long time even. You want to make sure you make the most out of your buck.

Hey, OP, what would you say about the same model, but with 16GB RAM and an 1660Ti instead? I know it's an previous generation hardware, but that's already on the top side of my budget, and still a huge hardware power leap from my old HP with core i3 rd gen with 6GB and Intel graphics.

dell g5 5500 heats up after 10 minutes I have already performed maintenance and formatting, after 10 minutes it heats up excessively and the fans start to work too much

Would u say that the g5 5500 is better then the g3 3500 because I found the g5 for 900$ off with a gtx 2060, 10750h, 16gb ram with 512gb space and I’m wondering if it’s worth the money or if I should go with the g3 that has gtx 2060, 10750h, 16 gn ram and the same 512 gn space both are the same price the g5 is 900$ off and the g3 is 700$ off

mm i have the 16gb 1660ti dell g5 15 5500 with a 144hz refresh rate. the only downside i've noticed is that my power button wont turn the computer off, it will turn it on, but not off

this is one of the worst dell laptops ever made i had the 5505 SE AMD model and then then the 5500 intel model. both constantly hit 100c throttled then locked up and shut down playing almost any gme. the thermal design of the G5 has some major issues that cant be fixed. even with undervolding. this laptop should be avoided at all costs i ended up with a Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 and its amazing
