What is 5000 PSI Concrete?

Показать описание
5000 PSI concrete or 5000 LB concrete is a high-strength concrete mix. The measurement of 5000 PSI refers to the strength rating of the compressive strength of the concrete. Commonly, a "regular" concrete mix will measure about 2500 or 3000 PSI compressive strength.

If your project requires a very high-strength concrete application, such as a concrete driveway or sidewalk that needs to withstand high-impact or heavy wear-and-tear, that's when you would use something like this 5000 PSI high-strength concrete mix.

You could make a high-strength modified concrete mix yourself if you have the right admixtures at home. 5000 PSI concrete is very common, conveniently available premade, and can be found in a wide range of hardware and building supply stores.

Sadly I had to consult Google to find that psi stands for pounds per square inch, same as it does when dealing with the much lower air pressure in a tire.

So would 5000psi be equivalent to a fully loaded truck applying pressure to your concrete? Or would be like a normal car with 5people?
