The $3.7 Million Hypercar That Doesn’t Exist

The Nilu is a brand new car from the designer of the Lamborghini Huracan, Bugatti Chiron, and Koenigsegg Gemera. His name is Sasha Selipanov and his company is Nilu27. It's a hypercar that doesn't play by the rules. It's brutal, uncompromising, completely analog, and a work of art.

But there's a problem: it doesn't exist. Not yet, anyway. The 6.5L V12 revving to 12,000 RPM hasn't been fired up yet, and the whole thing is a non-running prototype. We've been here before. Dozens of hypercars and hypercar companies have revealed cars that never appeared. Is the Nilu different? Watch to find out!

For interviews with Sasha, check out these videos from Top Gear and Munro Live:

I feel like we need a video introducing our new presenters. The logo update and sudden new presenters threw me off and I almost thought this was a different channel. Are the old presenters still involved with the channel in some way? Completely new cast and channel ownership?

Why is it over 1200 kilos if its a bare-bones, not even road legal car. It should be 200 kilos lighter.

This channel being sold is the saddest thing

All can go up in smoke until it first gets tested...

It's a beautiful thing, in my opinion. There is just a hint of XJ220 about it, never a bad thing as far as I'm concerned. It looks like a more coherent design than many of the current crop of hyper-cars. This and the Pagani Utopia are the cream of the crop, in my humble opinion.

meh. i don't think this is a good idea. just drive a lotus exige. what's wrong with that? do you need 1000 hp to have a good driving experience? that's as much a trap as "go fast with computer" cars fall to. except way more dangerous. go drive a 100hp gokart instead. much cheaper, possibly faster and probably way better to drive too.

What people dont get its Sasha doesnt need to convince the rich hypercar snob to buy its car, he need to convince Investors to help him make the car a real thing that can be buyed in the first place. Cause a Unit of the car would sell for 3.8millon but it will take way more money to develop the concept into a real car

Design wise, I fell like this model is way more impressive than the new Bugatti Tourbillon. Sasha shouldn't have left the team... Just saying!

No channel update or communication with the audience about what's going on with the channel? Just some low effort vid shoved in our sub box with new presenters again? Do y'all even care about the community or channel yous have built? Over these companies killing good channels.

i also didnt like the electrification of the new hypercars like the buggattis and lamborghini so i settled with a trabant pure mechanical driving pleasure

All of those cars look alike. What a shame

I managed three minutes before deciding I couldn't take any more. OK this car looks great, but is the bear bones approach real, or a reflection of a limited budget now he is going it alone. I can't help thinking about some of the more powerful TVR models that were fast but scary. Or even dangerous. There's nothing wrong with tech if done properly, and when folk start going back to the good old days, it comes across as an affectation, like 'fine art' photographers who make B&W pictures with film cameras, and other similar bollocks. Not that I'd say no to a Nilu if someone wanted to give me one.

The rear reminds me of an old Porsche Le Mans car, can't remember the name

Marketing bullcrap. If you want to lose electronics you'd have to go back to constant ignition timing, no electronically controlled injection, and so on. Oh, and of course no LED lamps

Overdrive is boring now. Bring back the stunts and challenges. THAT's what people want to see!

The first l saw the Nilu 27, l remember the spectacular debut of the Lamborghini Countach in the incredible car chase opening sequence of the Burt Reynolds movie, Canonball Run. That was the first time most of the world set eyes on the now legendary Countach, and has never recovered.

The Nilu 27 is going to have the exact same impact, especially because of Sasha's pedigree.

I think The Fast & Furious movie franchise has just found their next vehicle. The question is who will drive it, the hero or the villian.

First video I've seen from this channel, and this guy really needs to educate himself on the correct pronunciation of some names like Rimac, Chiron, etc..
