It's my personal headcanon that Peach could be a terrifying powerhouse if she wanted to, but she's a vibes-based person and it would harsh her mellow.

I think Peach prefers to just passively float through life and doesn't really mind what happens to her. She could absolutely escape from Bowser, like, are you kidding me? But, that would be effort.

It's also my headcannon that Peach is accidentally an amazing monarch because she maintains a Taoist approach to governance and her only role is to set a vibe, that vibe being chill and lazy.
