✅ America's Fastest Cellular Network For Home Internet - PCMag 2021

Показать описание
America has a new leader in 5G cellular speed, T-mobile is now the fastest network carrier in the USA according to PCMag's recent testing. I speak thru the results and test method that the PCMag team did. Overall I think they did a great job testing and summarizing the results, covering over 10k miles throughout the US. That said they couldn't test everywhere or cover all scenarios so this is a general guide for how the networks perform in several areas. You exact location may be best served by a "looser" of this test. They do offer more detailed insights to each city/area they tested to aide you in determine your best carrier.

These Tmobile Home Internet videos are incredibly helpful. I really like the Engineer to User point of view that you do.
Thank you for taking the time to do these.
So keep what you are doing Nate. It is great!

will you be doing a review on the new T-Mobile software update for the 5G modem?

Your mention of Tmobile backhaul improvements makes me think that possibly accounts for my speed increase on Tmobile home internet starting last week. I guess it also could have been a tuning or adjustment of the transceiver or antenna that worked in my favor. I checked my gateway software version and that's still the same. I'm still on my usual 4G/5G signal pair with the mid-frequency n41. The tower I connect to here in the rural southwest is 5 miles away, and starting last week, after 10 weeks of getting a pretty good speed range considering my distance to the tower, my peak download speed jumped from 190 to 276, and the upload stayed the same at 30. Before my average download was 90 and now it is 150 at least.

Nate: I have the latest 1609 so-called update, and as far as I can tell it does nothing new. I am concerned that if TM doesn't listen to the user community and provide bridge mode capability that many, including me, will be sending back their TM home internet gateway and discontinuing the service. I do like the speeds I'm getting, on average it is 300Mbps down and around 100Mbps up. I want to thank you for your expertise with TM and look forward to looking at any new related youtube videos that you put out there. Gary

I see in Florida they didn't even come close to me. Missed me about 125 miles.

In your area are you on the extended 5G or Ultra 5G and how do you get the secondary signal to kick on your gateway

Nate: After configuring my asus router to work with TM my AIMesh connections suddenly went away. TM is my secondary internet connection and ATT Uverse is my primary ISP. Everything else works as advertised but for some reason the AIMesh ASUS routers are being forced out the primary interface to ATT. Not sure how to easily fix this, have you had any issues with your AIMesh setup? My next move would be to factory reset all AIMesh routers and re-establish the AIMesh network on the TM 12.0 network what do you think?

Do you know if anybody successfully used T-Mobile home Internet Sim card in another device like a cell phone to create a hotspot or one of the routers for cellular reception making it a portable hotspot

So is there a way to check if there are upgrades planned for a particular tower? Just looking at TM's coverage map, there currently is no mid-band 5G emanating from our particular tower in (31026035061508). Granted - the speeds I'm getting are an order of magnitude better than our 1.3M DSL connection, but I'd like to know if we can look forward to even better speeds. Is it just a matter of calling tech support?

Can we expect better audio quality from 5g? I understand 4g VoLTE will upgrade to 5g VoNR (voice over new radio) that has better audio, but nobody seems to be talking about this. My old Mom won't give up her very clear, but expensive land line, but I'd like to plug it into that stoppered RJ-11 on my new T-Mobile Gateway, if the audio quality is acceptable.

T mobile is horrible in Central Florida. Nothing worse than being on vacation I’m getting no service
