i3 k sku actually makes more sense this time around(as long as cheaper than i5 that is!) - with no basic motherboards for sale and coffelake being a new platform meaning an upgrade in cpu later on can be done.

Great video. I think that based on the data, I'll be paying more attention to the 8400 rather than the 8350k. Since they're so similar in price it makes sense to me to go 8400 for the few games that will benefit, especially since I've never OC'd a couple before. I just hope they start to become more available come Christmas. I'm helping my baby brother pick out parts for his first computer that he's been saving up for / wants to spend his Christmas money on.

For Gaming- 8350k is a beast for under 200 bucks. beats the 7700k in some titles and can OC to 5.0ghz SOLD!!!

I like the FPS vs Turn time debate in Civ 6 Steve from hardware unboxed and Steve from Gamers Nexus are having in their videos

Toward the end of the year we are getting some DX12 titles on PC and Xbox One X, so I would like to see some of those in the CPU testing.

So, performance wise it is basically a Skylake/Kayblake unlocked i5, at least when overclocked. Even with the fact that the i5's are now 6cores, that is a price drop of about €100 on this side of the pond for the same performance, nice!

Could you please cover the 8600k vs 7700k and 8700k? Would be interesting to see how 4C/8T go against 6C/6T. Would it be worth going for a price dropped Z170/270 7700k or new Z370 8600k, mostly gaming oriented usage. Thanks for your great content

Steve i guess it all boils down to choice, money, and what you feel as a person with your builds if you want to chosse something for future sense useing a cpu that can move through time to future bulids and upgrades and performs as it should with more fps or clock speeds, hyperthreading capabilitys that can be used in many applications in which you use in your daily tasks or games, but its all about your choice if AMD is something you like for future uses or Intel, , money is a factor and futur proof lasting years in the future with out buying a whole new cpu and motherboards and so on, , love the video keep them coming i can see more things changeing in the next few months with AMD and Intel, as it always will be..

Hey Steve, have you heard anything about Zen2? Or is it still too early to hope for an r7 2700...(that naming scheme is gonna overlap old Intel real bad huh)

I hope Pinnacle Ridge can push clockspeeds up, in order to close the gaming performance gap.

What's the point in adding 1080p and 1440p turn times for tge CIV 6 benchmarks ? If the resolution had an effect on the turn times that would be pretty weird.

Hey Steve, I see that the 8350k is a viable option for the budget rendering PC user. But as for the deeply budgeted man, I wonder what are the true lower end options for both AMD and Intel respectfully. I was hoping you could step in and show us two builds for the new user that is stepping into the PC world and showcase the options of upgradability between both builds and give us the truth about low end gaming.

Well, the 7350K's not alone as an awkward CPU anymore.

Steve, with this being 4c/4t, it would be amusing to see a direct comparison to a 2500K, especially given how insanely cheap used 2500Ks can be these days. Also, given the number of CPUs now that have 6c/6t or 6c/12t, it'd be good to throw a 3930K into those charts (stock and typical oc of 4.8) to see whether things really have moved on or not.

@Steve Do you think Intel should still manufacture a 4c/8T CPU maybe product stacked as a lower priced i5?
